This choice: Sometime during the series • Go Back...Chapter #5Attack of the Giant Karate Champion by: Metalix64   It was a normal evening in Beika City. Ran was on her way home from shopping with her friend Sonoko. She had bought new shoes, a new blouse, and several other things. Ran and Sonoko already went their separate ways, leaving Ran to walk home alone. It was not unusual for Ran to go shopping late at night, but this time was different.
As she walked down the street, she noticed two people standing next to an alley. They were both dressed in black, one with long hair and the other wearing black tinted glasses. Both of them looked suspicious, so she decided to listen in. That's when Ran recognized the two men. They were at Tropical Land the same day Shinichi disappeared. Ran always had a hunch those men might be involved in his disappearance. They were dangerous, so she made sure she had a distance between them and herself.
"So that was the one, huh?" a man in tinted glasses asked the one with long hair.
"Yes, he's a regular client. He spends at least a hundred thousand yen every month."
That's when Ran spots someone lying on the floor next to them. An older man, a bit taller than her, was unconscious on the ground. Ran doesn't know if he's alive or dead. It's risky to approach since they could be armed. As Ran stepped away, the sound of her shopping bags rustling alerted the men.
"Who's there?!" the guy in glasses shouted.
Ran let out a gasp as the two men in black turned around, looking directly at her. The long-haired man had a devilish smile on his lips while the one in glasses looked confused.
"Hello, noisy lady. Where do you think you're going? " Gin said.
Ran assumed a fighting stance as Gin approached her. The look in the man's eyes was pure evil. His expression was terrifying, even more so because of his calm demeanor. But Ran was confident that she could easily beat him up. Not only was she a black belt in karate. Ran was also the captain of her school's karate team. She was confident she could take him down without any problem.
When Gin came closer, the karate champion tensed up. Suddenly, Gin threw a punch at her. Ran dodged and prepared to counter with a roundhouse kick. Gin caught the kick in midair, blocking it with his right hand. Ran didn't expect the move. Before she could react, Gin pulled a stun gun from his pocket and pressed it against her side. Ran screamed as the electricity zapped through her body. The shock caused her to go limb and fall to the floor. Gin stood over the long-haired girl and smiled while reaching into his pocket. The man pulled out a small case that was full of pills. He took out one pill and put it in Ran's mouth, forcing her to swallow it.
Once the pill had entered her stomach, Ran felt a horrible burning sensation throughout her entire body. She tried to get up, but it was impossible. Her legs wouldn't respond to her commands anymore. She couldn't move anything below her neck. Her vision was getting blurry, and her heart started pounding. To say the pain was unbearable would be an understatement.
Ran looked up to see that the two men in black were gone. She panicked. "Am I going to die?" Ran thought to herself.
The pain was too much for her to bear and it only got worse. Her bones felt like they were breaking, and her muscles were feeling weaker and weaker. It seemed like everything was happening in slow motion.
Tears weld up in Ran's eyes. She was going to die in this alleyway, and she would never see her parents or her friends again. She would never be able to tell Shinichi how much she loved him.
"I'm sorry, Shinichi," Ran whispered, before she let out a bloodcurdling scream.
Meanwhile, at the Mouri Detective Agency. Conan had just returned home from a long day of playing with his friends the Detective Boys.
"I'm home!" Conan exclaimed.
The boy expected to be greeted by Ran, but no one answered his call. He opened the door to the office and found Kogoro passed out from drinking too much. Conan narrowed his eyes at the sight of the sleeping detective. "I guess Ran's not home yet." He thought out loud.
He plopped down onto the couch and was about to take a nap when he felt a sting in his heart. "What's this feeling?" Conan wondered.
The small detective couldn't explain it, but he had a strange feeling that something terrible happened to Ran. So, he pulled out his phone and tried calling her number. It rang several times and then stopped. Then, it went straight to voicemail.
Conan wasn't one to immediately assume the worse, but he knew that something wasn't right. He hopped off the couch and grabbed Turbo Engine Skateboard before leaving the agency to search for Ran.
As he sped down the sidewalk, he stopped when he felt the ground trembling beneath him, followed by a loud explosion. Conan recognized this sound as a building being demolished. However, the sounds of people screaming were enough to convince the boy that this was no ordinary demolition.
"This can't be good," Conan mumbled. And with that, he continued towards the scene of destruction.
Conan had to maneuver through a crowd of panicking people, some of them were screaming about a giant monster. Whatever was causing all the commotion, he knew was getting closer.
Finally, Conan arrived at the scene of the disaster. He could see several buildings had been destroyed. The smell of smoke and ash filled the air. At the center of the devastation, Conan could see a gigantic figure, obscured by clouds of dust and debris. From what he could see it had a feminine silhouette, but he couldn't quite make it out.
As the dust congealed, Conan could finally see the massive form of a woman. Standing over a hundred feet tall was a long-haired teenager. The remnants of her torn clothing were spread across her body. There was still enough of her clothes intact for her private areas not to be completely exposed.
Conan's eyes widened with terror as he finally realized who it was.
"R-Ran...?!" He muttered in shock.
