The Hidden Leaf Village was a prosperous village with pleasant civilians and a powerful arsenal of skilled Shinobis. Argued by many to be the jewel of the Shinobi world, Konoha was the birthplace of the modern shinobi world, a monumental success that ushered in the modern world overnight.
However, The Hidden Leaf Village also held something peculiar within its marbled walls. Hidden within the civilian district, a section devoted to busy markets, flowing commerce and the occasional ruffian, there lived a family. This family was, unorthodox in its structure. There was a single mother, Mebuki Haruno. A mother who had seen the abstract horrors of the ninja world and vowed to protect her children from witnessing such abominations.
And then there was a baby. Although, this was no ordinary baby.
Within the Haruno household, in a nursery with pink walls, a teenager slept in a crib, refurbished to fit her size. She wore a pink footed-sleeper, with a purple heart stitched onto the front of her onesie. A large bulge was noticeable around her waist and privates, suggesting the teen was wearing a diaper, or some other protective undergarment. This girl was Sakura Haruno, dubbed by Mebuki as, 'Her Little Blossom'.
But why? Why was this teenager sleeping in a crib? Wearing diapers? Hell, why was this girl even being treated in this way?
Well, harkening back to Mebuki's vow, Mebuki once had a husband. While her husband gave her Sakura, this man never got the chance to be with his daughter. Instead, he was slain by bandits on a mission. To say that Mebuki was devastated would be a vast understatement. She was shattered, broken and torn. Half of her life had been ripped away from her in an instant.
As a way to cope and as a way to prevent anything close to her heart from being taken, Mebuki was overprotective of her daughter, to the point where she never let her out of diapers, never let her become a ninja and never let her advocate for herself in any capacity. While some would be quick to judge her actions, Mebuki was only doing this to protect what was left of her family. Although it could be considered cruel, Mebuki truly believed she was being logical.
Mebuki made sure everything in Sakura's life was babyish and as safe as it possibly could. This meant that Sakura still wore diapers, had furniture refurbished to fit and tailored to her needs and was only ever allowed to interact with other babies and toddlers. Mentally, Sakura was still a rebellious teen, but she still retained the behavior of a full-fledged infant.
Currently, Mebuki was downstairs, preparing breakfast for her daughter. It was the middle of the week in winter, new fallen snow had trickled from the heavens above to paint the streets of Konoha white with soft powder. Mebuki smiled as she thought of her daughter playing in the snow. Her daughter could be so energetic at times. As Mebuki was thinking this, she had just finished preparing Sakura's breakfast, a large bowl of oatmeal and a warm bottle of formula. For Mebuki, she had cooked herself an omelet with meats and vegetables, with a glass of water.
After Mebuki was finished cooking, she quietly crept upstairs, attempting to be as silent as possible to let Sakura have a few more seconds of sleep. As she got closer to the nursery, Mebuki could hear shuffling in the nursery. Curious, Mebuki picked up the pace and once Mebuki had made it to the nursery door, opened it to reveal....
