Jaune almost immediately wrote down Weiss was in love with him, but decided there was no way he could verify that. Instead, he decided on another girl who was in the library with him. Jaune snickered to himself and wrote the following:
Blake Belladonna is in love with me.
Sure, he had fantasized about Blake before. A lot of guys had. In his defense, he was surrounded by tons of attractive super model level girls, who could all kick his ass up and down Beacon without much trouble. This was only a test to see if the book actually worked and wasn’t some prank. Nothing seemed to change and he looked around the bookshelf to Blake. She was still sitting in the far corner on one of those large beanbags, reading.
“Guess it doesn’t work,” Jaune muttered.
Sure, he didn’t believe it, but there was still some slight disappointment because of the possibility it could. He sighed, kept the book under his arm, and kept looking for the book his actually needed. Finally, he found it, in the wrong spot of course, and opened it to double check it had the information. Suddenly, he felt eyes on him and he looked around. No one but Blake was there, who’s eyes were glued to her book. Shrugging internally, he decided to browse the section he was in for possible other books to use. He didn’t want to come back.
Out of the corner of his eye, he swore he saw Blake staring at him. If he turned his head, she immediately looked down at her book. Jaune blinked and frowned.
What if the book did work? He thought. I just wrote she was in love with me, not that she acted on it. What if I go over and sit by her? If she likes me, there should be some sign, right? Maybe I should write in the book she’s my girlfriend? That would be an obvious indication. He chuckled. What am I doing? A girl looked at me and I assumed she loves me.
