Chapter #6

Edelgard Invading the Monastery!

    by: Krashify Author IconMail Icon
“And you’re sure this plan will work, Hubert? And on this grand a scale?” Edelgard questioned

“I’m sure of it, Lady Edelgard” Hubert confidently responded, “We’ve already performed a successful test. All that remains is to set everyone in position. Then you can do as you wish…”

“Very well Hubert, let us make preparations to depart at once.” Edelgard said, “We shall eliminate the Church in one swift attack. The only question remains how we will distribute the populace once we succeed.”

“We have already begun auctioning the disposable Church members off, our war chest runneth over after an astoundingly successful event. There are a lot of nobles who have paid dearly to get their hands on the more attractive church members. We have already planned the celebration event, all you will need to do is collect them, Lady Edelgard.” Hubert grinned

“A brilliant idea, Hubert, combining the shrinking them to mere dolls with those who wish to play with them.”

Four dark mages in robes surround the Garreg Mach Monastery, at measured positions equidistant apart from each other. As they chanted, dark tendrils began connecting between them, as a dark pyramid formed over the Monastery.

“Incredible, what an excellent discovery Hubert.” Edelgard applauded

“You flatter me, your majesty. But the real discovery is yet to come, I know you’ll enjoy it…” Hubert laughed

“I am glad to be the one to capture them, but how do we know they won’t escape?” Edelgard asked

“There will be no where for the vermin to run to, you’ll be the only thing they see for miles.” Hubert answered

“Very well, then I shall make my way there. We’ll soon have the Church in the palm of our hands.” Edelgard smiled, as she slowly walked towards the monastery

--

Catherine and Shamir walked into Lady Rhea’s room, greeted by Lady Rhea herself, Seteth, Hanneman and the rest of the Knights of Seiros.

“So, what’s this about? I heard there was an attack on a village?” Catherine began, standing next to the rest of the knights facing Rhea.

“Yes, or we believe there was…” Seteth began, “A town has seemingly vanished. No sign of destruction or struggle, just empty land.”

“Empty land? What about the town buildings, or people?” Shamir questioned

“Not a trace. The only witness came from a neighbouring village that said a small force of Empire soldiers came through, with Hubert leading them. Then the next day, the town had disappeared. Like it had never existed” Seteth responded

“That’s… worrying. We should be on the lookout then.” Shamir answered

“That Hubert is a troublesome boy, always seemed to be scheming and untrustworthy. Utterly contemptable.” Hanneman commented.

“He certainly was a dark and shady figure… His loyalty to Edelgard was unwavering and his magic downright terrifying.” Catherine added

“In any case, we shall remain vigilance for any signs of empire activity in the regions nearby. We can’t afford to get caught. They’re surely planning something for us.” Rhea pontificated

The room darkened as the sun seemed to fade. Catherine ran to the window as she warned,

“There’s an attack! It looks like dark magic!” She yelled, “I can’t even see the sky!”

Everyone in the room began to shuffle outside and out of the Rhea’s Chamber, heading downstairs and out into the courtyard. They suddenly began to feel the ground and the buildings around them shake, as various knights began running around, trying to head to their stations.

“Head to your positions! Watch all entry points, don’t let any foes into the Monastery!” yelled one of the knights running past

They all began to feel a constricting feeling, like their bodies were getting tighter.

“What’s.. happening… To my body…” Catherine struggled, barely able to stay on her feet.

“Your voice… It’s higher…” Shamir noted, on her hands and knees, “…Mine too.”

They felt the ground was rising beneath them, like they were sinking into it, as everything continued to shake for a minute. Suddenly, it stopped, as the pyramid faded from the sky. Then they felt a sudden tremor in the earth beneath them, distant yet ominous.

“We have to get to the marketplace, then we can see what’s going on!” Catherine squeaked, clearly uncomfortable with her own voice.

“What was that? And what’s going on with our voices” Alois wondered, surprising himself with the high pitch.

“It seems to be a dark magic spell, but such effect and magnitude, I’ve… never known anything like it” Hanneman commented

The tremors were rhythmic, and slowly getting louder and more earth-shaking.

As the party left the entrance hall, and stood on the steps, they spotted the source of the tremors. White as a sheet, and their blood ice cold, they were stunned as the professors and the Knights of Seiros saw her. Slowly approaching, was a behemoth-sized Edelgard, Emperor of Adrestia. As they contemplated running, they soon discard that idea, as the monastery gates only came up to her knees. They watched the stunned guards at the top of the gate, looking high up at the Emperor, as one managed to stutter “T-the enemy approaches!”

“Dear Goddess… She must be at least 50ft tall!” Alois commented in awe

“What! It can’t be…” Shamir gasped

“Impossible! How did she get so huge!” Catherine snapped

-

As Edelgard got to the edge of the gate, barely reaching her knees, she announced to the tiny populace,

“Listen well! The Monastery and everyone here are officially classified as the Emperor’s property! You are all powerless before me, submit now and live as my pet.” Edelgard announced loudly, her voice booming to the marketplace dwellers, echoing to every corner of the Monastery.

“W-we will never surrender to you!” The guard yelled, just barely audible to the giant empress

Edelgard’s eyes looked for the source of the squeak she just heard, before looking down to her knees, spotting some tiny figures on the top of the gate. She had to squint to make them out the one that had defied her. She bent down and wrapped her fingers around his torso and thighs, before lifting him up to her face

“Hm, are you defying me?” Edelgard bellowed

“U-uh… I…” The guard stammered, facing the titanous face of Edelgard

“Very well. You shall be an example.” Edelgard glared at the tiny guard in her hand before announcing to the masses, “Do not disobey me, or suffer the same fate.”

She held the guard up above her head. The Knights of Seiros watched the guard flail wildly as her fingers closed harder, and heard his panicked screams soon become more breathless and choked.

“P-please! I-I surrender! M-my G-Goddess, I’ll do anything!” The man pleaded before Edelgard.

Edelgard said nothing, her face unwavering. Her vice grip tightened on the man, as he began coughing up blood. She soon squeezed harder, one final scream from the man preceding him bursting as blood trickled down her hand, and splattered on the marketplace below, splashing a few horrified civilians in the man’s blood. They heard a few squeaked screams and cries at the horrifying powerlessness of the guard, the Knights stunned from the shock. She then dropped the man into the middle of the marketplace, those around unable to look at his disfigured and bloodied corpse.

“Let that be a lesson to those who dare defy me!” Edelgard exclaimed

---

The Knights snapped themselves out of their fearful trance and began to move back into the Entrance hall,

“We have to get Lady Rhea out of here!” Catherine yelled

“But where? We can’t exactly outrun her.” Shamir questioned

Suddenly as they reached the courtyard, they felt the earth shake, as a thunderous impact sent everyone stumbling to their knees.

They turned back to see the giantess thrust a giant shovel deep into the earth beneath the monastery, creating another cataclysmic tremor. Moving around the monastery slightly with each thrust.

“E-even the shovel is gigantic… What spell could grow so much?” Hanneman said in shock, amazed at the spells seemingly endless effect.

“Wait, why are the mountains that big?” Alois asked

“What is she doing? Where would she take us?” Gilbert questioned

“Wait… Dollhouse… the mountains… If the dark magic was centred on us…” Shamir wondered, “No… It couldn’t be…”

“What kind of magic- Wait! You can’t mean…” Seteth snapped

“She’s not a giant… we’ve been shrunk!?!” Catherine caught on

The knights and professors connected the dark magic and it’s effects around the monastery to the giant Edelgard. Everyone stood speechless, their shocked silence only broken by the thunderous thrusts of the giant shovel. Unsure where to take Rhea, they defaulted to her chambers. With each thrust of the shovel, they could feel the monastery shift in the earth, feeling the base of the monastery’s integrity dissolve slowly, as the giant thrusts had penetrated deep under the monastery.

After a few minutes, Edelgard had finished shovelling. One bonus of the shovelling for her was tracing the perimeter, able to see the tiny inhabitants scurry for their lives. After tracking the panicked tinies, she spotted a group of knights fleeing deeper into the monastery, surrounded a tiny green-haired figure. Edelgard smirks, and…
