Of all your present family members, you felt like Kevin might not be a very obvious choice - you were both teenage boys, just on opposite ends of what qualified for that. He didn't have the mature femininity or authority of your mother, the youthful femininity of your younger sisters, or the babyhood of James. However, he still definitely had his differences - 13 was a lot earlier in puberty than 17, and he still had some growing up to do, physically and emotionally, still acting a bit childish at times. He teases and picks arguments with you, Hannah, and especially Stella a lot, gets angry over some immature stuff, still hasn't gotten over not liking "girly" things, tries a bit too hard to act mature, and was generally a little... difficult. That, alongside his rapid interest changes, made it clear that he wasn't exactly having the cleanest transition into a teenager. Yet at the same time, him being at that stage made him seem all the more like an interesting target - maybe some swapping could help him out, and it might be interesting to see things a little more from his perspective... or maybe teach him a lesson.
You crept near his room's door, not wanting to disturb him. It had been left open just enough to get a clear view of him without having to touch it and possibly catch his attention, a perfect distance to try swapping him from, as he was tapping away on his phone, though you didn't press the button just yet. After confirming you'd probably be able to swap him, you actually moved away from the door and where he could see you through it to think of what to swap. More personal traits came to your mind first;and the first of them was age. It might be a little reductive, but that probably had a lot to do with why Kevin was like that, so it might give some insight to see what a version of him that's a little older might look like, and it might be an interesting experience to be thirteen again. Alternatively, you could swap personalities with him to see what happens, he might mellow out a bit more, but then you weren't sure if it would be wise to give yourself his chaotic, immature personality, even if you would remember what you were usually like - but then an odd part of you seemed to find some thrill in such a thing. Besides that, though, with the remote's supposedly ever-growing list of options, you wondered if it might be possible to swap some more specific things, such as interests, or things you owned, or maybe even things like school, responsibility, or relationships - though you weren't sure about having your first swap making him date Avril.
On the other hand, there was another thing your mind called out to you - physical traits. You hadn't really seen a swap in action, yet, and Kevin was still male and just younger enough for testing any physical swaps to not feel as drastic as with the rest of your present family, the perfect test subject to ease yourself in. And perhaps it was some of them that made him the way he was, what with being early into puberty. It might be worth it to age him up physically, perhaps you could just swap bodies, or put your heads on each other's? It would be an interesting experience to have another family member's body, and to see if it has any effect on Kevin... or if he just stays the same on the inside. There could be some other physical options that might be interesting too, like maybe you could just swap physical ages, slowing down your development while speeding up his? You could also maybe try swapping body parts, though you couldn't think of many of Kevin's off the top of your head.
While those did seem like interesting choices, you still wondered if there were other things to do with the remote. While you wanted to get yourself involved with swaps, you wondered if it might be interesting to swap Kevin with someone besides yourself, maybe some more femininity would do him some good, or something from James, or anything else you could think of. At the same time, you thought about how he wouldn't notice the swaps unless he was holding the remote. While you weren't too sure on the idea, a thought was growing in the back of your mind to try and teach him a lesson with the remote somehow; maybe you could try and get him to close his eyes and hold the remote while you selected and confirmed a swap? You weren't sure he would trust you enough to do that and, while he wasn't very nice himself, essentially pranking him like that felt a little outside of your element, especially given you were also experimenting with reality-altering technology, especially if he finds out what it is - you weren't sure you wanted anyone else knowing about it right now, but especially not him - but it was a tempting thought. Still, maybe it was just better to stick to swapping the two of you without him knowing as your first swap.
