shy Peter

“Peter!” she called out, waving her hand. The moment she said his name, she felt a flutter of nerves. He recognized her as Tina, his crush! This was a bizarre reality…

When he saw the girl before him, his brow furrowed in confusion. “Um... ” he mumbled, his cheeks turning a shade of crimson.

Her heart sank a little when she noticed the way he stared at her braces, clearly processing the situation.

“Tina…?” His brows knitted together as he tried to place her. “Wait, — I mean...”

“It’s late, we have courses starring in a minute,” Tina said quickly, hoping to speed up the conversation and take away the confusion swirling in his mind. “I’m here to help you out, especially with the prom coming up. Have you thought about asking someone?”

Peter’s gaze dropped to the floor, shifting uncomfortably. “Well, um, yeah. I was thinking about asking someone, but…” he trailed off, mumbling under his breath and avoiding her gaze.

Tina’s heart softened at his self-doubt. “Hey, don’t worry! It’s normal to be nervous. Just think of it as a friendly chat—like how you usually talk to your friends. Just go for it!”

“Yeah, but what if she says no?” he mumbled, anxiety flaring in his voice. He was always so concerned about what others thought of him, and Tina wondered if he might feel more comfortable talking to someone he didn’t know intimately.

“Hey, look,” she said gently, leaning closer. “What if I help you practice? Who are you thinking about asking?” she prodded, pushing the nerves in her own stomach aside.

“I was thinking about Jessica,” he confessed, cheeks pink with embarrassment. “You know, the girl from our chemistry class? She’s really pretty.”

Tina nodded, recognizing Jessica from the mental catalog of names she collected. The girl was a popular cheerleader and had a lively spirit about her that made her stand out even among the throngs of high school students.

“Okay! Let’s come up with a plan,” she said, feeling a surge of excitement. “How about we turn this into a mission? I can help you craft the perfect way to ask her. We just need to figure out how you can approach her without sounding too nervous.”

You have the following choices:

1. mission Jessica starts

2. not yet
