The first week was rough but this one would surely be better. Her name was Alexis and last week was rocky, she had worked at retail stores before but none like Swann’s. Swann’s was very high class, the prices of the clothes alone made Alexis blush. Clothes she would likely never be able to afford, she couldn’t see herself wearing some $500 sun dress in fact, outside of work her style was maybe the opposite. A pair of Converse, blue jeans, and a graphic tee… tomboyish stuff. At work she wore dark stockings, low white heels, some nice beige slacks, and a name brand blouse to match… She didn’t even know what brand, luckily the company bought it for her, maybe knowing… it was out of her current budget. Looking in the mirror for the first time, she thought to herself. “I look sharp.” The color of her attire matching very well with her light mocha skin.
Alexis knew what she was doing… for the most part as it was still a retail job. Last week quickly exposed her what was going to be different, all those lessons she had mentally noted. She was confident this week. 5 hours into her shift things were all going accordingly, the few customers that came in were nice to her and she helped them with whatever they needed, just some recommendations or “Do you think this would look fine on me?” interactions.
Alexis’ eyes were drawn to the entrance of the store. In the far distance she could see an absolutely stunning beauty. Alexis looked to her sides to see if anyone else in the shop was witnessing her gawking, she was alone… (but Chris should’ve been helping her maintain the shop.)
The way she walked, the people that walked behind her carrying some bags. She had to of been a celebrity of some sort, she had the look. Beautiful straight narrow blonde hair in a hime-cut, red cravat to contrast the pure white frilly dress. As she walked closer Alexis also took notice of her finger-less white and red gloves that went well with her high heeled boots that were the same color.
The young lady kept walking forward her distinct look becoming more and more fabulous. The texture of her dress, the very likely $1000 pair of sunglasses she was wearing… Alexis wasn’t even bothered by her wearing them indoors and that was a pet peeve of hers. Alexis was shivering at the thought of tending to someone that looks… like that. She wasn’t ready… not yet, but the young lady continued to walk in her direction until she made it to the entrance.
“Hmph… Swann’s?” The young lady removed her sunglasses and put them over her left shoulder for one of her followers to grab them.
“…. Y-Yes, Yes. This is indeed Swann’s. Can I… Can I help you with anything?” Alexis closed the distance between the lady and herself. The first thing she noticed was… This young lady almost towered over her. It wasn’t just the shoes either… she was tall.
“Hmm perhaps you may, it has been so long since I’ve been to one of these… mall complexes and I haven’t seen anything even close to extraordinary.” Alexis wanted to look at all the baggage this lady had behind her…
“…but this place looks… different.”
“I like to think so ma’am. Would there be anything in specific I could help you look for, Miss…”
“It’s Miss Lili and no I won’t be needing any help as I doubt, you’ll have anything of my standards.”
“…Oh, okay.”
“…but I will have a look around, since I’m here.” The young blonde walked away.
“Where the hell is everyone, whenever I actually need someone, they aren’t around.” Alexis thought to herself as she went back to the register. Alexis was starting to sweat; these upper-class customers affected her a certain way. The way they talk, the way they walk, was just so different. It was as if there was an aura around her and the aura was pushing her away.
Minutes went by and Alexis was snapped back to reality by the young lady standing in front of her holding a pair of stockings with a floral print. “These are… adequate.”
Alexis smirked as the customer handed her the stockings. “Will this be cash or credit, ma’am?”
“….” Lili stared at Alexis for a good 4 to 5 seconds before turning around to look at the people behind her in line.
Lili turned back around. “Excuse me?”
“…Cash or Credit. These stockings come to $113---”
She rolled her eyes. “Tu es une fille stupide, n’est-ce pas?”
Alexis looked at the girl in confusion and then the blonde said to her. “Get your manager.”
“…What happened?” Alexis wondered. | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
