A human that hasn't been bought yet

You sigh, scratching at the poorly stitched shirt and pants that was put on you to keep you from freezing to death. The human store had been quiet today, the young fox manning the counter flipping through his phone as the shadows of anthros passed by in the afternoon light pouring through the front windows. You lay down on the shredded shirt fabric that acted as your bed, being the last human in this cage was incredibly boring. You were in the cage labeled "adultish", which simply meant your age was somewhere between 18 and 25, you weren't quite sure yourself. If a human isn't adopted young, they typically circulate between entertainments like races and such or end up in a restaurant kitchen. You yourself had been in a lot of casinos where people bet on you to win races, when your knee gave out in one of those, instead of surgery the casino sent you off to this pet shop.

The bell rang as someone entered the store, but you didn't bother to look up as the fox greeted the customer with a half hearted welcome. Yup, this was your life, for sale in some window shop, probably only 20 dollars. You began to close your eyes when a pale clawed hand slipped into the top of your cage, plucking you up and depositing you in an upturned paw.

"Mmmm you're kind of cute..." The potential buyer said as he rolled you a bit, finally settling you where you could look up at him.
He was a Liger, and a big one at that. His pale blue eyes looked you over like you were a pair of shorts he was about to purchase rather than a living creature. He was wearing a tank top with some beaded necklace. His large chest poking out of the sides and his biceps swelling with his movements.

"Please handle the humans with care..." The fox said, not looking up from his phone.
The Liger looked up at him and let a huff out before turning to the rack next to him, browsing the necklace cage selection, taking more time to observe them than he did with you.

"U-um ar-re you b-buying me?" You ask cautiously, making the Liger flick his ears and look back down at you in surprise and newfound attention, obviously he didn't expect you to be fluent in his tongue, or even be able to question him.

"Uhh...I dunno maybe? My boyfriend was going on about getting one of you..." He said, looking like he suddenly was having second thoughts now that you showed you were intelligent.
He held the eye contact a second longer before going back to choosing a cage, a black metal one with blue cushioning in it. He slipped it on, turning to a mirror next to the rack to see how it looked, pressing it against his large chest and between his pecs before letting out a satisfied huff. So you were going to be an adornment...
The Liger held you up to a measuring tool on one of the shelves before browsing clothing for you, following the colors of the cage and grabbing you greys, blues and blacks to wear before stepping up to the counter. The fox sighed as the large cat sauntered up to the counter, depositing you and the other items on it carefully. The fox scanned the tag on the back of your scratchy clothes before putting you on a scale next to the register. The fox squinted for a second at the screen before speaking.

"Human A2349...'Rudy'....Rudy here has a bad right knee here so watch out for that, if you're buying him for show or competition, I'd recommend one of the humans over in the window..."

"No, he's just a pet, does the knee get a discount?" The Liger said leaning down and resting his arms on the counter.

"Mmmm yeah, he's gonna run you 15 bucks...Cage will be 50 and the clothes 30....you're total with tax is 105.32...."
You sat in silence as the Liger swiped his card, the fox quickly undressing you and leaving you naked on the counter. Decency wasn't a thing for humans, they were too small to deserve it. The fox continued ringing up the transaction after putting the clothes you had worn in a bin.
"Do ya wanna put huminsurance on him for twenty dollars? Guarantees a new one if this one dies from sickness, it doesn't apply if he is crushed or ingested."

"Nah I'm not too worried about that, not for his price." The Liger said, not looking at you despite literally saying you weren't worth 20 more dollars.
The receipt printed off and the fox took one of the clothes the liger had bought and slipped you into it, a blue shirt and pants that was of a similar material that you had seen anthros in the medical field wear. The Liger dropped you in the cage and tied the necklace to one of his shorts belt loops, the cage bouncing off his meaty cage as he began to walk out of the store slipping your wardrobe into his back pocket.
Your world went from a dim pet store to the sunny sidewalk of whatever city had always been your home. Anthros walked by talking and smiling, crrying out lives that were alien to your minimalist and bleak existence. As the Liger walked, you passed a restaurant with outdoor dining. Among the patrons, you watched a caribou pop a human female in his mouth, sending a shiver down your back as you watched him swallow and stick out his tongue, his friends chuckling. The Liger didn't seem fazed by the action and kept on walking, rounding a corner and continuing down the street before stopping at a townhome and walking inside.

"Babe? I'm back!" The Liger shouted into the dark home.
You listened intently for a reply, only to hear a low rumbling coming from deeper within, making the Liger curse under his breath. He stomped into a room where a double bed with a lump underneath the comforter lay. The Liger ripped off the cover to reveal a nude...
