Dash was enjoying his afternoon, glad to be done with school for the day. He had no homework today, so he was in the middle of enjoying his favorite hobby, running! For most normal boys, their parents would not want them to go more than a mile or two from home without supervision, but Dash was different, as he could cover that distance in a brief moment! He went on hundred-mile runs instead, going out of state just on foot. He had gotten good at finding routes that avoided getting him seen, and he always wore his super suit for these dashes, given how normal clothes burned up with the friction, as he found out the hard way.
Either way, after finishing his run, he was on his way home, and he was exhausted, slowing down to a normal running speed for the last mile or so. Little did he know that this was a big mistake. "Ah, just in time!" A cloaked figure in the woods nearby said to themselves as they watched Dash approach from the distance. "My what an adorable little super. I almost hate doing this to him, but I can't give any super special treatment, even the young ones!"
They already had a curse lined up that would be perfect to use to mess up someone with a running-based power. As Dash drew near, they said the incantation, and cast it directly at Dash, who was none the wiser. The sorcerer was even kind enough to give Dash a way out. The curse they cast would make it so that with every step, Dash's feet would get just the slightest bit bigger. It was by such a small amount that only someone with Dash's powers would really be affected by it. It was perfect for nullifying Dash's powers, as he would either run enough to make his feet too big to be useful, or he would figure it out, and realize that he couldn't use his powers anymore if he wanted his feet to remain a normal size. Either way, Dash went about his day, not realizing what had just happened to him, and what would soon happen to him.
The next day at around the same time, Dash got back into his super suit and went on his usual hundred mile run. He was completely oblivious to the fact that his feet were getting bigger as he did so, millimetre by millimetre. The curse was subtle, but with how much and how fast he ran, Dash would likely notice soon enough. Either way...
