Kevin McAllister was enjoying his day home alone watching TV and eating a massive sundae of his own creation. He loved having the house to himself, as his family seemed to ignore him anyway, and he didn't have to compete with anyone for the TV, or for food, or anything that he wanted in the house. In a strange, sad way, he was actually glad to have been left home alone. Either way, he had just finished his sundae and the latest episode of his favorite tv show. He belched and patted his stuffed tummy, putting the bowl on the side table and laying back in the recliner, saying, "Ah, this is the life!"
Just as he was getting cozy, however, he heard a knock on the door. At first he thought it was his family, but knowing them, they'd just barge right into the place and go back to ruining his life, and whoever was at the door wasn't doing that. Upon hearing the second knock, Kevin said, "Coming!" as he got up off the recliner, curiosity and boredom driving him to find out who this visitor was, and who in his family they were here for.
He opened the door, only to see a nicely dressed man with a lab coat on. The man said, "Kevin McAllister, right?" and Kevin said, "Yeah, how do you know that? Are you in the FBI or something?" and the man chuckled warmly saying, "Definitely not! I'm a scientist, and an independent one at that. Your school told me that you might be interested in participating in my experiments." That last part was a lie, but the scientist wanted to build at least a little trust with Kevin.
Kevin cocked his eyebrow and said, "And what would these experiments be about?" and the man said, "I can't tell you now, but I will say that if you come with me to my facility, you'll get all the ice cream, cakes, pizza, and food of any kind that you could possibly want!" Kevin thought about how great his sundae was, and the fact that his family didn't leave too much food in the house. Kevin said, "Anything I want to eat, you say?" and the scientist said, "Of course! Just come along with me to my lab. You'll be able to opt out at any time!"
