Chapter #7

Colonization

    by: Fafnir Author IconMail Icon
With Delta's successful penetration into the inner sanctum of the maid's womb, the men shrugged off the packs that they've carried since the beginning of this mission. What was held inside is the crux of the entire operation. Everything they've risked their lives for hinged on just getting even one of these miracle devices inside of the maid. One that'll change the outcome of the war for humanity and why so many brave souls had been sacrificed to bring it here.

A teleportation array.

A device born of two decades of research and development.

As the name implies, the teleportation array opens a stable two-way portal between the worlds. It worked via dimensional resonance with each device being paired to a twin that remained back in the human world. Once activated, the teleporter will lock onto its other half, effectively anchoring the vortex to each other and establishing the link between the two worlds. .

There were only two downsides to this design.

The first being that if either of the two arrays were damaged or destroyed, then its surviving twin would be rendered useless as there is only two to a pair. A risk the military leaders were willing to accept. Hence to ensure the greatest chance of success, every operative participating in this operation carried an array in their pack.

The other problem was the power.

It wasn't an issue back in their home world, as entire power plants were constructed to provide the necessary energy to power their part of the array once a connection was established. Though, many held concerns that even if their operatives made it to the target location, they'd be unable to power the array on their end.

However, the solution was actually right in front of them.

It had been ludicrously easy to tap into the elven maid's vast, magical reservoirs.

By connecting the array to the walls of her womb, Delta siphoned the tremendous amount of energy required to open and maintain the bridge. With how deep they were inside, Delta felt her entire being practically thrumming with magical energy, so much that she never noticed the microscopic drop in her magic power as the first artificial portal between the worlds opened up inside her. She singlehandedly solved both humanities’ most pressing issue and unknowingly gave her enemies the opening they desperately needed.

So, as the portal opened, Delta felt the weight of their world fall off their shoulders.

They had succeeded!

They had survived!

So, Delta crossed through the event horizon and returned home as triumphant heroes.

And the plan moved onto Phase 2.

"How's it looking down there?" Aaron asked the technician beside him.

From the bridge of the observatory, he stared across the vast cavern of Alfina's womb, remembering the first time he stepped foot inside this sanctuary. So many things had changed since then, such as the medical facilities now dotting the smooth landscape.

His gaze drifted downwards, looking upon one of the said facilities, where rows upon rows of transparent incubators were firmly attached to her uterus walls. From this distance, he couldn't possibly see what was inside, but he knew what was in there regardless.

"Nominal General." She answered, "The children are growing up well. They should be ready for birth in a couple of weeks. Everyone is really excited to see the Gen 5's."

"Excellent." Aaron nodded, beaming. "Continue on as you are. I have an appointment I mustn't miss."

"Yes, General." The technician saluted, "Have a wonderful day sir."

Aaron waved goodbye, taking the shuttle pod down to where his personal cruiser was parked. Slipping behind the wheel, Aaron couldn't help but reminisce just how far the human race has come.

Nearly a decade has passed since that fateful day.

The Giantess Colonization Plan, or G.C.P. for short, was a complete success.

Humanity finally gained a foothold into the domain of the Demon King, using the very maid that had once so easily decimated them. It's ironic that their worst enemy had now become their greatest asset. It was all thanks to the valiant efforts of Delta Squad and your comrades who’s sacrifice made this plan a reality.

He chuckled, remembering how hectically fast his life became. The last five years was a blur with work and adventure as humanity slowly beginning to, well, using their hostess' own words “infest” the gargantuan maid.

Turning the ignition, he guided the cruiser to the nearest gate.

The moment his ship passed through the translucent membrane, WHOOSH, Aaron was pressed back into his seat as the ship suddenly accelerated and he was on his way up her bloodstream. The onboard navigation system plotted the quickest route to her stomach.

Aaron adjusted course, slipping into her artery, and letting the flow carry him forward.

Once, such a trip through her body would have been extremely dangerous.

In the early days, Alfina proved to be just as dangerous on the inside as she was on the outside.

Shortly after Base Camp had been established inside her womb and Aaron was reassigned to the pioneering team, their first order of business was to figure out a means to navigate and colonize the other sectors of her body. The scenic route outside of the body was definitely out. They weren't going to give her any indication of their presence here. So, given how similar her body structure was to a human's, the most obvious choice was to travel via her blood vessels.

Their best solution was to use Exploration Probes.

Once injected into her bloodstream, the probes would drift along, mapping out any potential routes and sending the data back to Base Camp for review.

However, her sheer size made it extremely difficult.

Once they passed a certain threshold, the probe's signal would be no longer able to penetrate surrounding flesh and cut out, leaving Base Camp with only a scant amount of data to work with. They'd discuss alternative options, but ultimately, it boiled down to someone diving into her bloodstream itself. Subs were prepped, along with relay beacons to boost the signal and allow for a better picture of her internal highway.

Unfortunately, many volunteers were lost mapping her circulatory system.

But the data they sent back was irreplaceable.

Once they discovered a route to her arteries, another crew was sent out, planting relay beacons along the way. These beacons kept Base Camp connected to the sub and slowly, but surely, routes through Alfina's body were charted. All the major routes were hardwired into the navigation systems, so the chances of getting lost now were slim. Though, even now, probes were still being pumped into her bloodstream, looking for more hidden capillaries and venules.

Aaron held on tight as he passed through her heart.

The mighty organ sucked his ship in, pushing him flat against his seat from the g-force before he came to sudden, lurching stop as the valve behind you closed. It was momentary lull before he got rammed back into his seat as it expelled him through the second valve and sent him on his way.

"I'm never going to get used to that." He murmured, clutching his stomach.

After a few minutes, Aaron passed through the security gate and entered New Alfina City.

The growing metropolis was located a little way away from the end of the esophagus, nestled within one of the stomach's numerous folds. This kept the city well out of the way of any falling food or drink, whilst keeping them close enough to harvest the material once their hostess finished with her meal.

Aaron moved to the city shortly after it'd been established.

It was a prudent move, given his duties as General here. And his new position came with some nice perks, such as his luxury condo. Mind you his work schedule was chaotic as it got, but he'd grown use to it by now and enjoyed his time at home. And unlike the cities back in the human world, everything here was made from salvage material obtained from Alfina herself.

He couldn't explain the science behind it, but the eggheads back home had somehow figured out how to literally grow a city out of the surrounding tissue. Combine that with some specially crafted material from the human world and viola, a city grown from the giantess herself.

And that wasn't the only gift he'd received from Alfina.

Pulling up to the elementary school, it was about time for class to end and he could see a crowd growing on the other side of the doors. When the bell finally rang, the mass of children came streaming out through the double doors. Aaron scanned the crowd, looking for a familiar mop of black and gold hair...

"DAD!!!"

He heard the squeal just a small shape separated from the crowd and came barreling into his waist. With practiced ease, Aaron caught and scooped up his daughter, spinning her in the air.

"How was school today, Tess?" he asked, dropping her to the ground.

"It was great! The teacher was showing us how to levitate."

"Oh? Did you manage to do it?"

Her beaming smile was the only answer he needed.

Aaron chuckled, "Well then superstar, I guess this calls for a reward then. Would you like to head up to Milk Town for some ice cream?"

"Yes. Yes." She squealed happily, dashing off to the cruiser. "Come on Dad. Let's go."

Aaron shook his head fondly, following at a more sedate pace.

He clearly remembered the day that would bring this bundle of joy into the world
