Chapter #4

You get Spryte's attention

"Well, do you know about the third piece of the Triforce?" you asked.

"That the royal family once had a third piece, but that one of the kings long ago sealed it away because his son didn't seem like a good heir for it and told his daughter where the location was. That a wizard spoke poison into the son's ear and that the son had a speeling spell put on the princess and regretted it immediately. No one could undo the spell, as it rerquired all three pieces. It's how my name is Zelda, as all princesses were named Zelda in honor of her. Do you know where it is?" Zelda asked.

"Kind of. It's sealed in a place called 'the Great Palace' which is protected by a forcefield that's powered by six other palaces, which are currently monster-infested. Only a warrior with the mark of the Triforce on the back of his hand can get the Triforce of Courage," You answered, making Spryte let out a little gasp.

"Courage... Sounds like it might belong to Link...," Zelda mused. "but that 's ridiculous."

"Link is the closest one to being that warrior, but it requires Ganon to die," You answered.

"Typicial. To defeat Ganon once and for all, we need all three pieces. To get all three pieces, we need to kill Ganon," Zelda grumbled.

"To defeat Ganon once and for all, you'd need the Master Sword, blessed by Hylia, Din, Nayru, and Farore to be Evil's Bane.. Link also is one of the few who could get the Sword," You answered.

"Master Sword? That sounds a little familiar," Zelda muttered. She looked at the fairy and asked, "Does it ring any bells, Spryte?"

"I'm... not allowed to talk about it to anyone that doesn't know," Spryte said, sounding like saying that was hard to say.

"Spryte, this is important. Any information can help us bring peace to Hyrule," Zelda said.

When Spryte struggled, you said, "Princess, Spryte's a fairy. Even though I'm from a magic-less world, I know there's magic laws about what they can and can't do. It may be a case where she wants to help, but she's limited by what the goddesses allow."

Zelda frowned a Little, but said, "I'm sorry, Spryte. I guess I got a little excited. Will. What else do you know about the Master Sword?"

"That it usually is either in a temple or deep within a forest. It contains an entity named Fi. When Hyrule is in a big enough danger, the hero of Hyrule will be drawn to three trials. One of courage, one of power, and one of Wisdom. Whenever a Link defeats Ganon, it strips Ganon a little bit more of his power and the curse of Demise," You answered. "I wouldn't be surprised if this was either Ganon's last life or close to it."

Spryte let out a relieved sigh, "Thanks, Will."

"You're welcome," You answered.

"Is there any way to activate these Trials early?" Zelda asked.

"By seeking the Hylian reincarnations of Din, Farore, and Nayru. Farore is drawn to books and secrets. Nayru has interest in singing and harps. Din likes to dance and probably is part of a Traveling Circus," You answered, recalling the Oracle games. "They may not remember. In fact, they might choose not to remember. No one can say they know the mind of a goddess."

"What of Hylia? What about that goddess?" Zelda asked.

"Well she could start the trials early, but..." You began.

Spryte looked horrified.

"But what?" Zelda asked, getting annoyed. She even put her hands on her hips.

'Huh. So that's why Link likes to annoy her. She looks a bit cute when she gets mad,' You thought. "Hylia tends to be reincarnated as... Princess Zelda."

"So... I am Hylia's reincarnation?" Zelda asked with a great amount of surprise. Then a thought hit her, making her utter, "Or is it the sleeping princess in the Northern Palace? Is there any way to wake her up?"

"You both might be. Goddess magic tend to be beyond mortal thought," You said.

"You got that right," Spryte said, flying over to you and sitting on your shoulder.

"I... I need time to think about your words, Will," Zelda said, sounding a bit panicked. "Spryte, show him around the castle."

"Will do, Zelda!" Spryte said with a playful salute.

So you and Spryte left Zelda's room.

"So what now, Spryte?" You asked.

"I'm just glad I have someone to talk to about all the lost and secret things of Hyrule. You have no idea what it's like to not only keep a secret, but be forced to keep it by magic! So here's a bit of thanks for taking some weight of my shoulders!" Spryte said before kissing you on the cheek.

"Th-hanks," you mutter as you blushed.

True, Spryte may be a small fairy, but she still is a cute girl.

Spryte giggled at your blush. Then she said, "As for what to do for now..."
