Mercy got up and walked away from Sombra, she didn't want Sombra to see the wand. She points the wand at Sombra and thinks of knowing the purpose of Sombra's implants, as well as how to use them. Angela could see Sombra flinch, her head rolled upwards as new thoughts flooded her mind, she was now unsure of her implants and their purpose, conversely Angela was filled with knowledge of them, she now knew that the implants on her head and arms were for Sombra's cloak and a custom interface for hacking, but reality settled and it became clear that they now were just for show. All the glowing bits were meant to seem intimidating, people would assume she could integrate with computers like a tech wizard, but they're just lights the spinal implant powered them, the only other piece of tech was a microphone so Talon could listen to Sombra's captors if she were caught.
Angela felt bad for how the new reality has diminished Sombra to nothing more than walking microphone and a gun. Angela weighed her actions, was it better to strip a terrorist of her core skills, or to leave her to a life behind bars—though Talon members tend to escape them from time to time. She briefly considered swapping Sombra's allegiances, but that would just make a new villain if she were to swap another Overwatch member, or another armed microphone for Talon.
"You giving up already?" Sombra interrupted Angela's thought, she didn't sound so cocky anymore, though she was trying to.
"Nope!" Mercy replied chipperly, seeing through Sombra's facade. Angela grabbed her laptop and walked over to the operating table, she was going to put some of her acquired skills to the test. She reached under Sombra and grabbed at the top of the spinal implant.
"No, what are you doing!?" Sombra shouted, struggling to escape the doctor's grasp. "You don't know what that will do to you if you mess with it!" Sombra tried to recover face, she wasn't scared, that was a threat—obviously.
"Hush." Mercy said dismissively, grabbing the tip of the implant and pulling it loose, revealing a USB cable. "Figured it would be harder to access, toys are more protected than this." Mercy mumbled under her breath. She paused, why would she know that? Then it came to her, the wand rewrote her past too, she grew up taking electronics apart for fun, eventually she began repurposing stuff, but it wasn't until Genji got hacked that she really became the hacker extraordinaire she now is, after the hack she devoted herself to learning how to hack to maintain proper care on her patients.
Before her recollections had ended she had finished deactivating the microphone in Sombra's implants, her bed side manners kicked in and opted to keep the lights on so Sombra wouldn't become too spooked.
"Done." Mercy said, putting the USB back in place. "Now it's just you and me," Mercy said with a smile on her face, "You can drop the act, you didn't know what your implants were capable of did you." Mercy asked, playing into the new reality. Sombra looked away, as if doing so would excuse herself from the doctor's questions.
Angela a little high from the excitement of using her newly acquired skill wanted to use the wand more, she...
