This choice: You awake to bright lights • Go Back... A dreamless sleep takes you. And not dreamless in the sense where you wake up seemingly moments later, but dreamless in the sense that you envision yourself floating in a dark void. You were naked, floating as though in water. You feel a gentle tugging at your back and you drift backwards slightly. The tugging gets harder and harder until you feel a strange popping sensation and you're suddenly staring at your body from a third-person perspective. Still, you glide further backwards until you feel yourself entering another, warm body.
Your eyes flutter open and you immediately are assaulted by a myriad of different feelings. Firstly, you felt a little light headed and kind of out of place. It was a strange feeling, like you were wearing a t-shirt backwards but it was your own body. That feeling was immediately overtaken by much more personal issues. You felt heavy, everything about your body thicker than before. Your chest ached and your belly felt like it weighed a ton. Your clothes hugged your body in strange new ways. You also felt overly hot, and hungry to boot. In fact, your whole body was whizzing with different hormones which addled your brain. As you try and get your barings, the pod pops open with a fizz.
"Ah! Perfect! It works! Well, as if there was any kind of assumption that it might not work in the first place." Dr Strauss calls out as Violet rushes forwards and takes your hand, helping you out of the pod.
"Careful Ma'am, we're not sure the effects this might have had on the baby..." Huh? Ma'am? What is she... You finally feel reality set in as you catch the reflection of yourself in a nearby mirror. You were standing there, looking normal as ever. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was that you were standing looking normal (maybe a little frazzled) as ever and Sunshine Jones was being helped by Violet with an incredibly confused look on her face. A look that was slowly turning to horror as you look down at your body, realising the reason why everything felt so heavy.
"Oh SHIT!" You yell, a soft feminine voice vocalising your thoughts. You quickly clasp your hand over your mouth, feeling a pair of cute little lips behind your dainty digits. You slowly remove your hand. "I-I'm... a woman?"
"And you're pregnant! How exciting!" Dr Strauss calls out, walking up to you. You look at her, unsure whether to shout or cry. Your mouth splutters some incredulous noises. "Yes yes, it is very exciting as the babies seems perfectly in good health too." If you were drinking you would have done a spit take.
"BABIES!? PLURAL!?" You squeak in a shrill voice, feeling hot and stuffy in the thick sweater Sunshine had been wearing.
"Mhm, twins, obviously." Dr Strauss says. "No need to shout, you may upset Katya." You look over her shoulder and the beautiful brunette was indeed holding her hand up to her ears.
"S-sorry..." You stutter, at a much more acceptable level. That is before you let out a squek of surprise as two hands suddenly cup your belly from behind. You twist your neck to see your own face looking back at you.
"Please don't try and exert yourself, it's not good for my babies." Your body says to you.
"If you cared for the kids that much, why did you even do this stupid trial?" You try and point out. You could feel yourself getting angry but the hands on your belly slowly begin to massage in circles, your anger beginning to flitter away.
"I needed the money. With no father in the picture I gotta take what I can get. It's not like this is permanent, right doc?" You both look to Dr Strauss.
"Well..." She begins. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
