You kept struggling, and somehow managed to stay above water. You got to the other side of the river and crawled onto the muddy shore, then fell down and lay on your back, staring up at the sky and the trees above you.
You were convinced now that trying to cross the river was a really bad idea. You were just curious about what was on the other side, but that curiosity caused you to get totally soaked in cold water, and combined with your lack of clothing and the cold night air, you were freezing. You were totally exhausted, and you could barely move.
You just lay there for a while, unable to do anything. If any Pokemon found you now, you would be easy prey. You hoped that trying to cross the river wouldn’t be a fatal mistake.
Eventually, you saw a Noctowl fly and land on a branch over you. You noticed it seemed to be looking right at you. You were scared, and tried to get up and hide somewhere, but you were so tired and cold that you couldn’t move. Even if you could move, it was way too late to hide.
The Noctowl swooped down from the branch and landed next to you—then bent over and snatched you up in its beak, swallowing you whole.
