In the early hours Dr Lockheed finally fell asleep. However, it was a weird type of sleep as he was conscious the whole time.
He looked around him and saw a background of soft clouds surrounding him, beige and brown in the early morning light. He looked down at himself and saw a young, fit body below. He realised that he now will inhabited the body of his younger self. He looked back up and saw what looked like a blinding light which must have been the sun. He slowly walked up to it, shielding his eyes from the blinding glare.
Suddenly he heard a quiet moaning coming from behind him that was gradually becoming louder and louder until it deafened him. He looked back and saw a black cloud looming behind him, narrowing the gap between Reginald and itself every second.
Reginald turned back round, sprinting for the sun, trying to escape his malevolent pursuer. He tried to run faster but something seemed to be slowing him down. He glanced downwards and saw he was aging again, his leg muscles becoming thinner and weaker until his legs eventually just buckled underneath him. The clouds swarmed, smothering Dr Lockheed and accelerated the ageing process. "No," he whimpered in his frail, elderly voice.
He crawled still, closer and closer towards the sunlight until he finally reached it. A wave of euphoria swept over him as the darkness was expelled from his body and his body reverted back to a young man. He was admiring his lithe youthful body when he heard a voice saying, "Wake up! Wake up!" He slowly opened his eyes and...
