A rather large rat scurried quickly across the motorway, shortly before the bus came rumbling along. The bus in question had a full complement of 38 passengers, the driver and a tour guide. Well it was actually more of a coach than a bus, a coach run by a holiday company based in Sheffield, just outside Rotherham. 12 of those onboard were friends and/or colleagues who were on a two-week vacation paid for by Wilko. Though only 10 of those individuals actually worked at the hardware store in question. By bending the rules a little, the store manager Emma had allowed two other acquaintances to tag along. Carly and Zoe, best friends who each owned a salon near Wilko were also aboard and looking forward to spending a fun time in Blackpool.
Emma was sat next to Kelly having a conversation, and Liz, the store supervisor was sat in front, also chatting to them both. Behind Emma was sat Ellie and Jodie, who were also talking about something or other.
Liam and Steven were sat together, but not much conversation was happening there. But sat in front of them, Becca was more than making up for the two guys' lack of conversation. She continued rattling on, as Jessica sat beside her trying to block her out a little.
And a couple of seats in front of them in an opposing double seat, were sat Carly and Zoe, who were both reading either a magazine or a brochure about Blackpool, their destination. Both beauticians looked as stunning and as stylish as ever.
Finally, Rob was sat on his own (as much as he could be on a crowded coach). Alone in a sense that the girl sat next to him was a total stranger. She was a brunette, quite pretty but she hid behind a pair of glasses not that disimilar to his own. And she had fallen asleep, so Rob was quiet not to wake her up. Rob might have been asleep himself during the drive to the coast had he not had in his possession a particular device that could exchange people's body parts without them being aware. He currently had the device in his pocket and was thinking of the 'tests' he had done back in Rotherham before the party had left. He hadn't swapped too many people that morning, just six or so people, and all had been strangers to him. He hadn't swapped anything 'major', but it had definitely put him in the mood for some real fun.
Which was why Rob was glad that his name was amongst those that had been pulled out of the hat when Emma drew names to see who was going on the well-deserved holiday. There had been some pretty disappointed colleagues back at Wilko that was for sure. Not that Rob cared much, for now he was on his way to th resort town of Blackpool and he had a trait swapping device in his pocket.
