Blake's eyes continued to adjust. As his vision cleared he saw a familiar end table... with a familiar forest of carpet around him. The scents of a familiar household. He was still home, only in the main hallway. This wasn't so bad. At least he was in familiar territory.
What did set him off was the sudden clicking. Behind him, Blake turns to see his giant front door rattling. A cold shot runs up Blake's spine and his legs start to shake. Was this the great evil that would pursue him? How did it already find him?! Blake stares in terror as the door jiggles and unlocks and swings open...
"Blake, Honey you here? Need help unloading... Hello?" Claire, Blake's mom steps through much to Blake's relief. Blake sighs as he sees his giant mother step through the door with a bag of groceries in her hold.
"Hm... guess he left with Jade. Oh well." Jade steps through the house and heads to the kitchen, shaking the ground around Blake. "might as well get started on dinner for when they get back." Claire's shoes go from thumps to clacks as she walks onto the tile floor of the kitchen. She drops off the first bag and heads back out of the house again to supposedly get the rest of the groceries.
This is good, Blake thought. With her here I can get some help or even get my old spellbook. While thinking Blake starts to make his way towards the kitchen, unsure of what his plan is. All the while Claire continues to bring in a couple of loads of groceries. On the way to the kitchen, Blake thinks of what he can do. He can climb onto the kitchen island and get his mother's attention, hopefully avoiding getting eaten by his mom in the process. Or he could abandon the kitchen altogether and head to his room to find his spellbook and figure out if something in it might help him.
