You had a few ideas, but being your first time in these kind of lab you had to ask some questions
The scientist nodded and explained to you how would the process work, once you provided the required DNA you could combine them with many possible choices of animals and you would most likely get the desired physical traits characteristic of them, but due to the nature of the genetic mixture you probably wouldn't get something tailor made for your specifications. The scientist also explained to you how due to the mixture the result was usually a chimera taller than a human being, and how personality wasn't something you could entirely predict as the output of the mixing either.
Satisfied with the explanation, you then advanced to the room where you could pick whatever you wanted to create your own chimera. Given that you felt lonely and wanted something friendly instead of some kind of marvelous beast under your control you decided to go for smaller and friendlier animals that you liked. You picked the feline grace from your favourite animal as the base, and mixed it with different properties from other animals that you thought it would be cool to have, for example the ability to flight from a common swift or the intelligence from a dolphin after a suggestion made from the selection machine (since you wanted a friend, it would be better if it could communicate with you at some level).
Even if you wanted to take a cautious approach though, for some reason you couldn't resist adding something from more dangerous animals, captivated by how majestic they looked on the wild and intrigued on how their traits would translate on your new monster friend. For this you picked a snake and a lion, two of your favorite wild animals, hoping the lion would enhance the traits you picked from your base animals and take them to a new level, and hoping it would gain some cool properties from reptiles thanks to the snake.
The machine suggested the final product would be a female of around 7 feet tall which was alright with you, although due to the unpredictability of the mixing it couldn't give you any further information on how it could come up. You looked one last time at your decisions and decided to proceed hoping you would get from this the friend you always wanted.
