A smilling Ness

"Look who it is." said Ness as he saw you. "Come on in!"
Inside, the house had a yellowish tint all around and looked bigger. The living room was connected to the entrance in one single room separated.
"Put your stuff by the sofa and let's go meet everybody." Ness told you pointing at a brown sofa for three surrounded by a few sleeping bags.
After setting down your own bag Ness took you to the second floor of his house where the bed rooms and bathroom were.
Nes's room was across from the stairs, with a plate on the handle saying "come in".
Ness opened the door for you and on the other side you saw Lucas and two girls, Tracy and Paula sitting on the floor casually talking to each other.
"H-Hi." you started feeling everyone staring you down
"Oh, so this is Paula" Ness said pointing at the older girl wearing a pink dress "Tracy and Lucas you already know"
"Nice to meet you." Paula replied "you're Nick. I heard a lot about you from my friends at the literature club"
"All good things, I hope" you replied blushing a bit at the thought of a bunch of girls talking about you.
"Not really, but let's not get into that" she replied measuring your reaction.
Tracy got up and tackled you to the ground
"Oof" you let out as her weight pressed the air out of your lungs.
"I'm Tracy!" she said happily, proud that she was able to push you down.
"What was that for?" you asked a bit annoyed but mostly surprised.
"She likes to do that to people she meets." Ness explained as his sister giggled.
As you got up from the ground Lucas was looking at you. He shifted to Ness quickly.
"So are we doing this or not?" he asked Ness.
"Do what?" you replied feeling increasingly nervous.
"Calm down, Lucas. First we need to see if he's compatible."
"Compatible with what?" you asked louder after they ignored you.
Paula placed a hand on your shoulder.
"Have you heard of PK?" she asked slowly.
All the name brought up for you was a urban legend that some people could use their minds to do things that would seem impossible but there was no way they were talking about that. No one knew for sure if PK was an actual thing or just a rumour.
"Kinda... It's something about mind tricks" you told her
"Close enough" she sighted.
"Pk means psichokinesis. It's a power that some people are born with and developt as they grow."
"No way! That's just a rumour! Smoke and mirrors!"
"Check this out." she said as she made a finger gun pointed at Nes's head. She took a deep breath and called "PK FIRE!" launching a small ball of fire from her finger hitting Nes's hat tilting it upwards.
"What was - How did you do that?" you exclaimed as Paula blew at the barrel of her "gun"
"That's PK fire. I can shot fire pellets from the tip of my finger with it.
" Thanks a lot Paula." Ness complained "You could've burned my favorite hat".
"That's soo COOL!"
"We all have powers like that" Lucas said finnally talking to you."And we were wondering if perhaps you also had some PK in you."
"No way! You're saying I can do that too?"
"We don't really know. Different people can do different PK moves. Paula can do Pk fire but I can do PK flash and Ness can teleport"
"That's soo cool. But, how do you know I can use PK?" You as exited with the idea of being a psychic.
"Tracy can tell if others can use PK." Ness explained patting his sister's head smiling at her.
"But I've never done anything special like you."
"Some people have PK without knowing and it gets sealed inside you." Paula said. "But we can try to bring out your powers with out own PK."
"Then what are we waiting for? This sounds awesome! I'm all in"
"If you say so." ended Paula "Sit down in the middle of the room and focus"
You comply exited as hell to see what kind of PK you had. You sat down in the middle of the carpet as the other kids surrounded you.
"Okay", said Ness, " Now we're gonna channel some Pk into you to try to awake your own"
"Okay, I'm ready." you say in a single breath.
"Now! PK ROCK !" started ness
Following his lead Paula shouted "PK HEAL", Lucas " PK LOVE" and Tracy "PK RESTORE"
You felt waves of energy wash over your from each of the kids around you. Something was ressonating inside you as well sending out a tingling sensation through your body and making you feel hot. You were feverish hot as you realized the power of PK Shield and PK Dimension.
"Holy shit. That sounds amazing!" you say out loud breaking everyone's focus and interrupting the ritual.
"What was that?" asked Paula giving you a stern look."You broke our focus midway!"
"Calm down, Paula" Ness put his hand on her shoulder. "For him to react like that he must have realized something amazing"
"It's risky though" said Lucas helping Tracy get back up. "Stoping like that could destabilize his PK."
"Might as well try it out just to be sure." Ness proposed "Let's go outside. I don't want you blowing up in my room"
Your eyes widened.
"Wuh-what?!" you blurred out.
"Lucas patted you on the back reasuring you
" He's kidding."

At the back of Nes's house there was a open field with a few lonely trees and a rock wall at the end.
"Ness got a few stones and sticks and layed them on the ground a few meter in front of you. Then he and the other kids got behind you to avoid whatever your PK was.
" Ok focus on that stick and shout what you realized" Paula instructed while signaling Lucas to launch a Psi shield around them.
You focused on one of the sticks, the bigger one and shouted "PK DIMENTIdrai
A wave of PK flew through the air and surround the stick making it shrink down to the size of a toothpick.
You turned back to see the other kids in awe what your powers.
"That's a new one." said Paula first.
Ness ran up to give you a high five "That was wicked!" he said.
As your hand touched his, you immediatlelly felt his hand get smaller and quickly let go of him.
Feeling his clothes getting baggier and sawing you grow at least a few inches made Ness realize he had shrunk.
"Holy shit!" exclaimed Lucas. "You shrank."
"I was afraid something like this would happen." Paula said grabbing her forehead "Now he can't turn it off."
"What do we do now?" asked Tracy grabbing Paula's arm. "Is Ness stuck like that?"
"Effect PK usually wear off after a while but we don't know if this one does too." she said looking at her small friend.
Ness had shrunk a lot just by touching you. Before he was taller than you but now he could only reach up to your shoulders.
"So I'm stuck like this for a while." he said calmly.
"I'm more concerned with Nick, if he can't turn his PK off he wont be able to touch anything without making it pocket size"
"What do I do??" you asked feeling nervous again. Scared of the implications.
"The only thing I can think of is having you waste your PP so you stop making things smaller" Paula said holding her chin.
"Hey. Didn't we cast Psi shields on everyone?" asked Lucas unable to take his eyes out of Nes's reduced form.
"Oh shit, you did!" said Ness as Paula's eyes widened.
"Then we need to fix this as soon as possible. PK Magnet everyone!"
The group got around you streching their arms towards you. One by one they all shouted "PK magnet". Again you felt a wave of energy go through your body, this time moving outwards as your mind grew empty and light.
"That's it then?" you ask when the draining is finished. "I have this awesome powers but can't use them."
Paula gave you friendly tap on the shoulder.
"It might take a while but eventually your PK will stabilize, but you'll have to keep using it so it doesn't get sealed again."
"But, what if it gets out of control again?"
"Then we'll help you!" said Ness back to his normal size. "Just keep those grabbies to yourself"
"I could try to teach you telepathy, that way you can call us whenever you need help." Paula said smiling at you. "Welcome to the psychic group"

The rest of the day was pretty normal. You played games on Nes's Switch with the boys and Paula and Tracy taught you how to use telepathy and some recovery Psi like healing and lifeup in case you needed to fix something. You didn't try it out but Pk healing could reverse the effects of PK dimensions.

It was later that night that things took a turn for the worse.
