You'd noticed the impeccably-designed boutique before, but it seemed to have suddenly become a popular spot; a large crowd of ponies swarming around the entrance. They seemed completely glued to a podium raised slightly above ground level, on which a pristine white unicorn was showing off a series of dresses, some fitted onto mannequins and one being worn by herself.
You headed over, trying to bob and weave through the crowd to get a better look at what was drawing so much attention.
"You heard me right! I'm looking for a new assistant, and one of you lucky ponies has the chance to fill that ever-coveted role! Oh yes, I'm serious; a position alongside THE Rarity! You'll get all the insider knowledge about how I make my dresses: my process! I'll be selecting a name randomly from this wonderful new sun hat I designed just last week, and yes - before you ask, they are available for purchase."
You wouldn't want to neglect your duties with Twilight, but you decided it could be fun to throw your name in anyway. You weren't even sure who this mare was - it seemed like her clothing was pretty famous around here - and it could be interesting to find out a little more about her.
You pushed and shoved your way over to a tall, elegantly silent mare with a carefully-trimmed mane, who handed you a piece of paper and a pen.
You quickly scribbled down your name and handed it back to her, watching as she tossed it into the hat and then handed it up to Rarity.
The unicorn peered down into the hat, using magic to shuffle around the pieces of paper.
"Who will be my lucky new assistant? Let's find out!"
She closed her eyes and drew a single piece of paper from the hat, holding it up in front of her face, unfolding it, opening her eyes, and announcing that the winner was...
