This choice: ...watches as another person grows huge • Go Back... With Helen being dazed from her previous growth, Dylan wasted no time moving closer to his now massive mother. Dylan hops across the street and sees a red house near him, and notices something suspicious about the walls. As he approaches, it becomes increasingly clear to him that the front side of the house is being pushed out by something. The curious boy looks around for any tools he can use to get inside. Fortunately, the residents left their house keys in a bush nearby. Quickly grabbing the keys, he tiptoes across to the back door just in time to see a red-haired woman grow out of the front wall.
Dylan quickly recognizes this woman as Debbie, a friend of his mother's. He also sees Debbie's eight-year old daughter Molly standing near the doorway, shocked at the transformation she witnessed. He asks Molly "How did your mom get so big?", his face and pants twitching with excitement. "Your mom grew really big, and then dropped this toy gun. Mom took it here to see what it was, and she started growing too." Dylan looks around the house for the gun but doesn't find it.
"Helen?", the now giant Debbie asks of her similarly sized friend, "You grew too?". Helen nods enthusiastically. "I don't understand why that gun works the way it does! The owner must have been some scientist!", Debbie complains. While the two were talking, Dylan and Molly found a rope and used it to climb up to the neighbor's roof. They had a full view of what their moms were doing. Debbie turns around and sees the two kids sitting on the roof staring, which leads her to ask "What are you two doing up here?". She then realizes they came out of concern for her and Helen, and nods quietly. Helen asks "You know Debbie, I actually like being this size. Do you?", not noticing the kids. "Yeah, I do! I actually still have the ray that caused all this in my house!", Debbie says. She explains that while Helen originally grew, she came in and took the ray to look at, at which point it blasted her, causing her growth. Helen nods back in understanding. "Actually Helen, your son is here too and so is my daughter" , Debbie points out, causing Helen to look at the roof. "I didn't see them before, but now I have an idea", Helen says with a smirk on her face. Debbie shows her the ray in understanding, with it having grown to match her size.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
