"No! Come on. I don't want anyone else to see me like this!"
"Yeah, it'll be fun!" Grabbing Dylan's hand, his sister dragged him across their yard and down the street, the smaller boy forced to run in order to keep up with Fleur's pace. Thankfully, Lucy lived at the end of the street, but there were still enough people around to make Dylan nervous. He tried breaking free and running off, but his younger sister's grip was simply too strong. By the time they made it to her friend's house, Dylan was out of breath, as Fleur finally let go of him.
She had led them into Lucy's backyard, the other girl playing with her dolls in the afternoon sun. Noticing her friend, she put her toys down and walked over to greet Fleur.
"Hey, there," Lucy said, glancing towards the new kid. "Who's this?"
"This," Fleur replied with a grin, '"is my older brother, Dylan."
"Nuh-uh," the 6 year old said, shaking her head. "This can't be your brother. He's a lot bigger than this boy. This one's...tiny."
"Well, it's him," her friend explained. "He made himself smaller with this thing." She presented the ray gun, laughing. "He did this to himself by accident." Looking up, Dylan finally met Lucy's eyes and the other girl had a reaction similar to Fleur's earlier.
"Oh, my God! You're right!" Squatting down to get a closer look at him (though still towering over the boy by several inches) Lucy placed a hand on his shoulder who had begun backing away in fright. "Wow, it's really him, only a lot smaller."
"How does that thing work?" she asked Fleur, standing up again.
"I don't know. I haven't used it yet. But Dylan says it can make things smaller or bigger."
"Really?" Lucy said, looking at Dylan once more. "Can I try it?"
"Sure," Fleur replies, handing the device over. "Who are you going to use it on?"
