"Thanks for lunch honey." Steve smiled before getting up from the table. "It's time to push my research to the next level."
"Oh?" Debbie questioned as she collected his plate. "How are you going to do that?"
Steve smiled. "It's time for me to collect some specimens for personal study."
"Going to see what makes them tick, huh?" Debbie giggled. "Honestly, when did this house turn into a biology class?"
Now it was Steve's turn to giggle as pecked his wife on the cheek. "If all goes well, my research may help millions. Billons even"
"That's so like you. Always wanting to help people. I'm surprised with your smarts you never tried to become a super hero."
"Too much exercise involved." He grinned before exiting the kitchen. "Wish me luck."
"Good luck?" She called back. She closed her eyes before humming a sweet tune. "That man."
…
"This is amazing!" Claire cheered as she threw the monkeys some peanuts. "I'm feeding animals in a mini zoo in a mini city."
"You do know you're not supposed to feed the animals, right?" Derek said while pointing to the big red sign.
"What the staff doesn't know won't hurt them." Claire waved off. "Besides, when will I ever get another opportunity like this?" The cheerleader smiled.
Derek couldn't really fault her logic. "True. But how about we look at something that's actually cool."
"Like?" Claire questioned.
"I don't know... The tigers?" he said lamely.
Claire seemed to brighten-up more. "That's a great idea!"
Just as the pair were about to set off a large rumbling shook the earth. The unexpected earthquake had sent the two lovebirds and whatever other bystanders nearby to the floor. All around them were the startled cries and roars of tamed creatures.
"What the hell?" Claire groaned.
"Earthquake?" Derek answered.
"MONSTER!!!" someone shouted.
Looking up, both teens eyes bulged. It wasn't just any monster, it was a giant monster that just so happened to be Mr. Jordan.
"Dad!?" Derek gasped. This sight was both incredible and terrifying. He was essentially a bug while his did was a lumbering giant.
"What is he doing!?" Claire screamed in panic. From the looks of it his dad looked like a mad scientist in a horror movie and he was plucking screaming civilians from the ground with a giant set tweezers and dumping them into a giant glass beaker.
Meanwhile up above, Steve whistled an old tune while he plucked himself up some test subjects. A few people and animals would suffice. Thankfully he remembered those special microscope goggles he kept in storage before undertaking this task. They didn't work the best all the time, but it was still helpful to have them.
He cranked a dial on the size to zoom in more and began to pick up the pace.
Derek and Claire began to freak out at the sight of the giant plucking up screaming people. "Derek, get us out of here!"
