Johnny stopped and thought for a moment, deciding how he best wanted to use his best friend's newfound toy. Despite the fact there were so many possibilities here near the school, he thought it was best to try it in the relative safety of his home.
"Eh, why don't we bring it back to my house, bro?" he said.
"That works for me," Derek responded, and walked towards his car. He had silently been hoping that Johnny would say that. Johnny's mother was a stunningly beautiful Japanese woman, who occasionally seemed to be very flirty with Derek when Johnny wasn't around.
He was also curious about Johnny's little sister Rose. She seemed very nice the few times they had talked but always seemed to be in her room and acted very shy.
The two boys pulled up to Johnny's house and parked on the street. "Mom, I'm home," Johnny called out. "Derek is here."
Johnny's mom came out of the living room and smiled. "Hi Derek, how are you?" she asked walking up to give him a hug.
Derek smiled, he would take a hug from Mrs. Takahashi any day of week. "I'm good Mrs. Takahashi, how about you?"
"Can't complain," she said with a smile. "I'm doing some yoga in the living room right now. Rose is in her room but what else is new. What're you boys up to?"
Neither Derek or Johnny knew exactly how to answer that. "We...uh..." Derek scrambled trying to think of something to say.
"Probably just hanging out in my room," Johnny responded, making the save.
"Okay have fun," Sara said. "Oh by the way Johnny, your work called. They said you can pick up some overtime if you want."
"Okay I'll think about it," Johnny said as they walked upstairs.
Tossing their backpacks in Johnny's room, the boys begin to discuss their plan.
"Okay do when we shrink do you wanna stick together or split up?" Derek asked.
