Receptionist

Things were more or less okay for John Adams so far.

Being 19 years old and a fresh graduate of High School, it was just about time to really start thinking about the future. College was already planned of course, but his parents really wanted him to get a summer job, since he hadn't had one throughout High School. It was kind of a pain, but one he had to deal with he supposed.

So, in light on this, he started applying to many places. Sadly, a lot of them weren't working out. He expected that on some degree, but to be refused by almost everyone was somewhat demoralizing. Still, he kept sending resumes left and right, hoping for one to stick as he didn't really have much of a preference. Well, other than fast food. He didn't want to do that.

Still, even as June came around, nothing had panned out. At this point, he was pretty much just waiting to truly begin summer vacation right now. Right now, he was just playing games in his room.

However, at that moment, an e-mail chimed in. Curious, he put the game down for a second to take a look. Surprisingly, it was from one of the various companies he had applied to: Ewan Inc, one of the local businesses around town that was actually pretty well known. He clicked on the e-mail.

Dear Mr. Adams,

After reviewing your application and resume for our Receptionist position, we are delighted to inform you that you have been chosen by our HR division for the position. We would like you to begin this upcoming Monday at 8:00. Please reply to this e-mail if this is acceptable and if you have any further questions.

Have a nice day,
Ewan Inc Recruiter

Wow, he actually got the job? Despite his reservations about getting a job in the first place, it felt pretty cool to actually be accepted. Granted, he found it funny that he didn't need to interview. Maybe it was because it was entry-level? Or maybe that sort of stuff would happen when he went there at the time they requested.

Oh well, whatever the case, it meant he finally wouldn't have to deal with sending in dozens of resumes over the summer. He could actually relax a bit.

"Finally," he smiled as he went down to go let his family know about it. They would surely be excited about it.

****A Couple Days Later****

Monday came pretty quickly, almost too quickly for John's taste. He had to get up earlier than he usually would for a summer day after all. Still, he was properly suited up and ready to get started on whatever this company would have for him. He'd surely have to make sure he was the right person for the job given this would be the first time they would be seeing him physically.

"Okay, here goes," he took a deep breath.

He walked out and got to his car, starting it as he usually would as he began to head out of the neighborhood, making the 10-15 minute drive over to where Ewan Inc was.

You have the following choices:

1. Arrival at the company

*Noteb*
2. Before that

*Noteb*
3. Something else happens

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
