Chapter #4

Selene School for Girls

    by: Steamgear Author IconMail Icon
Considering you were in high school and Emily was in high school, one might think it would be easy and convenient for you to take her forgotten lunch to her. However, things weren't quite as simple as driving to Hyperion High and dropping it off, mostly due to the fact that Emily didn't go to Hyperion High. After junior high, your mom and Emily had talked it over and Emily had gotten her way. She got to go to Selene School for Girls, a girls only high school on the other side of Atlas City with a notable reputation for its athletics program (and the associated college scholarships its students often received).

However, you did as your mother had asked, and drove over to Selene. Along the way you did fume a lot about having to do this for Emily. You and her had already had a pretty bad argument the other day that left you feeling bitter. Not to mention, you felt like her bringing her lunch revealed how spoiled she could be, considering you bought your own lunch at school.

Eventually, you arrived at Selene School for Girls, a far more prestigious looking set of buildings than Hyperion. It even had a gate and wall around the school grounds, which you nervously walked up to once you had parked.

"Do you have business here?" A feminine voice spoke up, amidst a bit of static, after a confused look around, you eventually noticed a black intercom box, a light indicating it was active.

"Uh...I'm Emily's brother, she forgot her lunch at home," You replied, feeling a little odd about being here. You held up the bag and gestured to it, unsure if the voice was watching you.

"I see, her mother called ahead and cleared it, please bring it to the main office straight ahead." The voice replied, her tone serious and businesslike as if to suggest you should not wander of. Accompanying this, the gate ahead shuddered and slide open while the light on the intercom went out.

If you had any questions they'd have to wait. Still the instructions were clear enough as you walked into the central courtyard. Inside the wall, you saw a three story building ahead at the end of a well-kept lone divided by crisscrossing sidewalks. It was flanked on either side by longer two story buildings that looked to be classrooms.

You manage a few steps before you're overcome by a sudden bout of dizziness. You end up dropping Emily's lunch sack as you fingers go numb. Clutching your head, you end up going down on your knees. Your ears ring for a moment, your vision goes white and the whole world shoots up aground you. Coming to a second later, you glance back and see you're in the shadow of Emily's lunch bag, barely an inch tall. The only cause must have been the accident in school almost a week ago, but for now, you needed to figure out what to do...
