You decided to check out what they had on TV in this place. You glance around the room for a possible remote, but there doesn’t seem to be one. With a quick, annoyed huff, you get up off your claimed bed and saunter up to the appliance.
It’s a big TV, and as you look it over, you only find one button on it, even after checking the sides and the back: the “on” button, in the lower right corner below the screen. You find that a little weird, then again, this whole place was a little weird. Burying your slight unease, you push the button, hear it click, and take a step back to see what will appear on the screen in front of you.
What manifests on the screen, following a brief flash of white as it awakens, is a single sentence in white letters, with the white outline of what you guess is a canine paw underneath it.
PLACE HAND HERE.
That makes you blink. You’ve heard of TVs that can react to your voice before, but you’ve never heard of one asking for your hand. Perhaps this is some kind of super new and advanced TV set?
You raise your left hand up to and press it against the screen where the outline is. The sentence above changes.
PLEASE WAIT…
You keep your hand pressed to the glass. You feel a warmth beneath your palm; it’s strange, but not unpleasant or anywhere near painful. After around ten seconds, the sentence changes again.
THANK YOU. PLEASE REMOVE HAND.
You do so. Curious, you inspect your retrieved appendage. You don’t notice anything different than before you put it on.
The sentence on screen changes again. This time, it becomes two.
WHICH OF THESE CATEGORY WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO EXPERIENCE? PLEASE TOUCH YOUR DESIRED OPTION.
Experience? That’s a weird way of saying ‘watch,’ you think to yourself.
Below those two sentences of white words, three more appear, each underneath the other.
1. FANTASY 2. PREHISTORIC 3. HORROR
You look over the categories on offer, and ponder which you feel like watching most.
