You call odd, and the two cats grin, the dice tumbling from their hands and onto the table. For a moment, it looks like they’re going to land even, but they hit into each other, and change to a six and a one. You happily celebrate this as the two cats look at each other with suspicion. You return, “So, do I win anything yet?”
Mithri and Lithri exchange talking after each sentence, “Usually, this game is played as a ‘best _ out of _’ sorta thing, you know?”
“Since you’ve won two games, we could do best 3 out of 5.”
“One more win and you get your prize.”
“Or, you could push your luck and do best 10 out of 19!”
“You already have a two point lead, so it wouldn’t be hard to win either.”
You think it over in your head, ‘If the numbers are higher, the prize must be better.’ You look at their polite smiles and say, “You’re not gonna pull any tricks, or try to cheat me, or something?”
They each extend an arm, holding them back to back, and extending their pinkies. They speak in unison, “Pinky promise.” You reach out a hand and shake. Lithri continues, “So, what’s your choice?”
