Naruto yawned, trying to rub the tired sleep out of his bloodshot eyes. Today was a bad day for paperwork. He planned on heading home early today, but Iwagakure raised a sudden trade issue over tariffs, so the back and forth and paperwork was driving him insane! He looked at the mountain of paperwork, and even with his shadow clones, it was unbearable. Not only that...
He looked at his desk, seeing a small rectangular piece of paper. Kakashi-sensei had been going through some... "special" archives in the Hokage mansion, former Hokage privilege and whatnot, and just "happened" to be going through some rare Icha Icha for "research" purposes. Sure... that might work for those who idolize the Hokage, but not for someone who'd been Thousand Years of Paradised in the ass by him... 'Okay, that sounded WAY less wrong in my head earlier...' Naruto thought, as he picked up the piece of paper, which had some kind of jutsu formula on it. Flipping around didn't reveal anything much else. All it revealed was the creator of the seal, one which made his eyes darken with grief, a crudely drawn image of Ero-sennin, lifting up his hand in a V-sign with a big smile on his face. He had asked Naruto to see if he could figure it out, but all he had been able to glean from it was the character for time. He picked it up. Were it any other person, he might be willing to test it, but it was Ero-Sennin...
Sighing, he picked it up, twirling it in his right hand. He'd been here long enough, it was time to head home, he could barely function right now... he figured he could figure it out later, grabbing the seal and flashing back home. It was time to relax. He made sure not to make too much noise as he flashed back through the door of his house, dodging as a kunai flung itself at his head, looking at the face of his rebellious look-alike, his son, Boruto. He furrowed his brow, "What are you doing up so late? You should be in bed!" He chided, but Boruto just huffed at him.
"It's not like you're here anyway, mom's usually too tired to put us to sleep." He crossed his arms, looking away, causing Naruto to turn his head around. Boruto's eyes were shadowed by his bangs. He wanted his dad, but he was never around..
Naruto could deal with this later. He could already feel the dark bags under his eyes, and he needed to be up early tomorrow. He couldn't even remember what he just did in the last 15 minutes."We can talk tomorrow, I promise... I know I need to talk with my family more, but I also have my responsibilities, but I promise." He sighed, rubbing Boruto with his right hand, feeling like he was forgetting something, but sleep now,
Boruto huffed, watching his dad walk off. "Sure, promise... like yesterday, and the day before.. Because of responsibility..." He muttered, rubbing his hair in frustration, feeling something there that wasn't before. He grabbed it, seeing some random piece of paper that his father must've left in his hair. He flipped it around, seeing nothing identifying, except for the random smiling old guy on the back. He shrugged, walking off to his bathroom. Why'd his dad leave him that... maybe it was a test? Or did he just forget? "Responsibility... who needs it..."
Looking it over one more time, he decided to go for it. Hey, maybe if he figured out what it did, his dad might reward him. His eyes lit up, maybe he might even get to spend some time with him! "If that's what it takes, maybe it can be worth it!" He said, biting his thumb and making it bleed, and he slid it across the seal.
Before he could react, he saw the seal spark, and then explode in a burst of energy, making his vision turn white as he felt the energy envelop him. As his vision came back into sight, "What the heck just happened..." He muttered, though his question was answered pretty quickly as he quickly started feeling strange... He felt...
