Kara was flying through National City, doing her usual Supergirl patrol, when she heard a girl calling for help. Following the sound, she made her way into a warehouse, but instead of finding a girl she found a doll.
'This can't be good' she mutters picking up the doll, which then releases a high pitched shriek, bringing the Kryptonian to her knees and eventually causing her to pass out.
Some time later
Kara groans as she comes to, surprised when she saw that she was being quite thoroughly restrained by regular looking cuffs and ropes, despite no kryptonite that she could see or feel. Tugging she was shocked and a little afraid when she couldn't even get any wriggle room, never mind shred it like it was made of wet paper
'Try all you want, it's not going to work" a female voice says through the darkness, the amusement clear as day before she steps into the light and reveals herself
"Jaqueline Nimball!" Kara gasps "But you should be in Van Kul!"
The blond chuckles "True, but during the last rampage, you and Reign caused a portion of the building collapsed, allowing several inmates, myself included to escape rather easily. Now I have a very special plan for you doll, but first I thought you deserved an explanation. When some very powerful people managed to discover my plans, they were very interested and gave me something that would make sure I succeeded, I believe the robot called it, Gold Kryptonite" Kara's blood ran cold, she knew exactly what it was and what it's effects were "Anyway, while you were sleeping I put it somewhere safe on your person, and by the time anyone finds you, it effects will be permanent, no more Supergirl"
Kara tries to find something to hope for "But the DEO will find me, quite easily in fact given I haven't checked in."
Jaqueline nods 'True, if I had planned to keep you here. Oh no, this is just the prep room." she says in response to Kara's fearful gaze, before pulling out a small device "Now this grenade contains a very powerful paralytic gas, would normally work for several hours, but when I'm done with you the concentration should last a few days at least." she grins before putting on a gas mask and pulling the pin, a thick green smoke filled the room and Kara begins to wheeze and cough, closing her eyes to keep out the added pain. 'oh no you don't' even muffled she could still here Nimball "You get to watch it all!" she hears as her eyes are forced open.
Once Kara was incapable of conscious movement Jaqueline unties her and begins setting to work posing and prepping her, molding her facial muscles to form her signature smile as well as move her arms into her version of the Superman pose. Kara felt humiliated but it wasn't as if she had a choice in the matter.
'There we go, the doll is complete." Nimball claps before stepping out of view, returning with a sci-fi laser and a plastic shell for a Supergirl doll, Kara not needing an explanation really to uncover the plan. It didn't surprise her (though against her best efforts did amuse her) when the laser gun had the classic sound effect when it fired, the beam shrinking Kara to the size where she'd fit perfectly in the doll case... as intended. She was glad Kryptonians needed less air than humans right about now as she was sealed into the container and dropped into Jaqueline's bag, darkness consuming her.
When she was finally released Kara noticed it was evening and they were in the toy store near her apartment, which only partly confused her until Nimball started talking again
"Look at this doll, all your perfect little sisters" she coos, picking up a Supergirl doll from the display to show her, Kara hated to admit it but they had done a spot on job with capturing her likeness, just sucks it happens a little while before she becomes the size to be mistaken for one "You know I like this one better, doesn't death glare me, I think I'll keep her." she puts the doll into her bag before looking at Kara again "But we can't have the theft known, guess I'll be returning this one." she frowns just before placing Kara on the shelf alongside all her other doubles. Screaming in her mind to be set free as the new Toy Maker walks away.
Soon morning arrives and Kara tries to make herself known, but the only thing she was able to move was her eyes which didn't exactly draw much attention unless they were looking directly into them. Just when she begins to lose hope she hears a familiar voice
"Supergirl dolls?" It was Sam, a mutual friend of Lena's that Kara had recently become friends with, she was a really good person, same as her daughter Ruby, they would help her, but her heart sank when she was picked up and rather than acknowledged was simply pressed against the brunette's chest as she made her way through the crowded store, paid for the shrunken hero and headed back to her car.
"Ruby, I got you something!" Sam calls when she enters the house, grinning when she hears her daughter's thunderous steps from one end of the house to the other
"Really mom, what you get me? Is it something cool?" Ruby asked.
Sam smiles 'That's up to you I guess' she says, passing Kara over to her
"No way, you got me a Supergirl doll? Thanks, mom" Ruby grins widely, hugs Sam and runs off into her room, tearing the packaging off her idol's doll so they can play together.
What next?
1) Ruby decides Supergirl needs a secret identity so gives her a disguise (whether she removes the suit and see's her doll's a lot more lifelike than she should, or simply puts doll clothes over the suit like Kara does quite often, is up to the uploader)
2) About a week later Kara begins to be able to move again but isn't sure she wants to return to her real life: sure being used by a little girl was embarrassing at times but she felt important. Plus both Kara Danvers and Kara Zor-El's lives sucked, they had so much pain with no end in sight. Ruby's Supergirl doll just had to pray she was played with most days so as not to get bored, no other responsibilities for the first time since she left Krypton Kara felt free.
3) Kara is able to move again and surprises Ruby as she discovers her Supergirl toy is the real thing. however, Ruby still wanted to play with her and instead of letting her go forces Supergirl to play with her. Kara tries using her powers to escape but this somehow causes her to shrink further to 1 inch tall  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
