Jacob had received his now favorite stuffed animal on his 5th birthday. Some would say it was just like any other birthday gift, like any other stuffed animal that a child may play with as an imaginary friend.
But to Jacob, the bear was very special. It had been the very first stuffed animal that he had gotten, at least according to his memory, and he had loved it to death ever since. Jacob would take the stuffed polar bear, which he named Ben, everywhere he went: on walks, bike rides, family picnics, and even to school inside his backpack. Today was especially important since it was the 3rd anniversary of the inseparable duo being childhood best friends.
8-year-old Jacob of course had a full day planned with his best friend Ben, and the two spent the morning and afternoon going to the arcade, eating at a nice restaurant along with his parents, and then going to see the new animated film at the theater.
