As much as Ann had been surprised at her flexibility while stretching, she was even more taken aback at her endurance on the treadmill. It was effortless for her to keep pace with the setting Ryuji had set for her. Granted, it was a slow setting to match her beginner status, but she was more than taking it in stride for the past several minutes.

"Hey, can we turn this thing up? I'm not feeling much of a burn." Ann asked, not even slightly winded.

"Huh? Faster?" Ryuji said cautiously, not out of breath either; that was to be expected from a track runner, though. "I guess, just don't wear yourself out too fast. You won't get anywhere doing that."

"Yeah, yeah, I know my own limits." Ann replied dismissively, unaware of how false that statement was becoming.

With a couple of beeps Ann pressed the button to speed up her treadmill, keeping pace with it in flawless step. As she jogged more intensely, her slim legs began to strengthen, developing lean, dense calves and thighs. Her glutes were especially affected, firming up and rounding out just a bit, pulling her already tight pants even more taught against her defined butt.

"Okay, that's enough for now." Ryuji said after another 10 minutes of jogging, powering down his treadmill and hopping off. "Good job, you kept up pretty well."

"Thanks!" Ann replied with appreciative glee. "You should give me a challenge next time. I didn't even break a sweat!" Encouraged by Ryuji's rare praise, she proudly placed her hands on her hips, not noticing how much more solid they were than they had been less than an hour ago.

"Alright, don't act all cocky! You're still a newbie!" He scowled. Ann scowled back at him but let it drop, knowing that's just how he was. "Okay, you want to tone up, right? Let's get some weight lifting in." Ryuji moved away from the treadmills and towards the weight racks, so Ann followed, remembering her first workout with Ryuji. Before, she had barely been able to keep up with him and by the end of it she ended up huffing and puffing on the floor, too tired to even stand. But now she felt great, better even since her short run. Chalking it up to just underestimating herself, Ann put it out of her mind and focused on Ruyji.

"Let's see... Here, try these." He said after inspecting the dumbbells and pulling a couple smaller ones off the rack. "They're light but they should be fine for you."

"What? Only 10 pounds?" Ann asked as she took them in her hands. "But these are so light!"

"Duh. I just said that. Now, start with your arms at your side and slowly bend them up to your shoulders. Got it?"

"Ugh. Fine." She said, annoyed. Doing what Ryuji said, she lifted the dumbbells up and down several times. She tried to do as she was told and do slow reps, but the weights were so light it felt like she wasn't lifting anything at all. "Ryuji, this is way too easy! Aren't I supposed to feel some kind of burn?"

"That ain't the point!" He said. "You're supposed to do lots of small reps to build up your strength and then you-"

"Here." Ann interrupted, shoving the weights into Ryuji's arms.

"Hey! What the hell?!" He yelled, trying not the drop the light weights he'd been awkwardly given. Ignoring Ryuji, Ann reached for a new pair of dumbbells, making sure to grab larger ones than her friend had chosen for her. Deciding on the heftier weights with the number 25 on them, she picked them up with determination.

"Hup! Now that's more like it!" Ann said with a nervous smile. She was worried that she would embarrass herself by picking dumbbells that were too heavy for her, and that almost seemed true at first. After a moment, though, her grip seemed to tighten and secure the weights in her hands. Again following Ryuji's instructions, Ann slowly curled the dumbbells up and down and was pleased to feel actual tension in her arms.

"Don't just toss weights at a guy, Ann! That's dangerous!" Ryuji cried as he placed the small weights back on the rack. "And I can't afford to pay for them if you break 'em!" Looking back to Ann, he noticed the size of the weights she was lifting. "Wait, you're not having any trouble with those?"

"See? I told you those other ones were too light." She said, pumping her arms at a steady pace. With each lift her biceps tensed tighter, growing more solid with each rep. Her thin, delicate arms began to thicken ever so slightly, going from slim and undefined to tight and athletic in an incredibly short time. Unlike her cardio workout, she actually began to sweat a bit using the dumbbells, a sheen of perspiration appearing on her bare arms. After doing reps for a couple minutes, Ann finally slowed to a stop.

"Much better!" Ann said as she placed the weights back on the rack herself. "How'd I do?"

Ryuji stared at her for a moment before blinking. "Uhh... Really good, actually. You sure you haven't been trainin' on your own?"

"Yeah. Why, am I doing something wrong?" She asked innocently. Ryuji didn't know how to answer that- on the one hand, she was pushing way more than what her limits should have been for such a beginner, but on the other, she wasn't having any trouble with it. In fact, she was looking rather toned, at least in her slender arms- which were looking less slim and more built that Ryuji remembered.

"Nah, I'm just imagining things." He said. Ann was looking more athletic, sure, but she had been exercising for a while so she was probably just tensed up from that, and maybe he just hadn't been paying close attention to her lately. "I'm gonna need to work out a new routine, though... This stuff's too easy for you, I guess."

"Sure, sure, fine. Hey, what about that?" Ann dismissed Ryuji and pointed to...
