"Why'd you chase everyone off? Now how are we supposed get everyone to confess who they really are?" Taka asked as he got down from the stage and headed over to where those remaining were standing.
"I'm sure if they were going to confess, they would have done it already," Hiro said dismissively.
"Hiro's right. If anyone was planning on admitting to who they really are, then they would have done so instead of leaving. This isn't exactly something we can force them to admit," Kyoko stated, still as calm and composed as ever, despite the circumstances. Makoto thought it was a bit strange to see Hifumi's body acting so serious, but then, none of them were really acting like who they appeared to be.
"So, what do we do now, then?" Makoto asked. Kyoko had asked everyone who hadn't stated their identity to leave, but he wasn't really sure how they could progress from here.
"Well, obviously our first priority should be getting used to the bodies we're currently in, seeing as we'll be stuck like this until at least the next class trial."
"Wait, what do mean "at least"?" Hina interrupted.
"Monokuma is using this body swap as the motive for the next murder, but he never said he'd swap us back once it was all over."
"You really think he'd just leave us all like this?" Taka asked. Despite him speaking with Toko's voice, her trademark stutter was nowhere to be found.
"After everything else he's put us through, it wouldn't surprise me," Makoto mumbled, fidgeting a little awkwardly. He wasn't exactly comfortable being in Celeste's body, seeing as he was a boy and she was a girl, but he supposed the others must all be going through something similar too. Even those who'd ended up in the body of someone the same gender as them, like Hiro, would still have differences between their usual body and the one Monokuma had put them in.
"Anyway," Kyoko said, trying to steer the conversation back on track. "Regardless of how long Monokuma decides to keep us like this, it's particularly important for us that we get used to this quickly. As much as I'm sure we'd love to think that another murder won't occur, I think the fact that over half of us didn't reveal our identity is enough to show that it's a definite possibility."
Kyoko's words seemed to put everyone on edge, as if their circumstances hadn't done that already. After everything that had happened, Makoto wanted to stay positive, he wanted to believe that they'd all work together to try and get out of here, but Kyoko's words did ring true. If people didn't divulge their identity, it would make it more difficult to find the culprit if a murder occurred, so that fact that so many chose to hide who they were made him uneasy.
Despite the group's unrest, Kyoko continued. "And, if someone does decide to murder, we may be a larger target than anyone else."
"Because of what Monokuma said, right?" Hina asked. "If someone likes our body, they might come after us so they can keep it."
"Exactly."
"So, we've just gotta get used to these bodies and keep an eye on our old selves. Doesn't sound too bad," Hiro said, seemingly taking this the best of group, in line with his laid-back attitude.
"Easy for you to say," Hina grumbled. "You got swapped with Byakuya."
"Well you got swapped with him too."
"Yeah, but I'm a girl. You and Byakuya are both boys. It'd be different if I swapped with Sakura or something."
"Um, I have a question," Makoto said, interrupting the ensuing argument. "What are we supposed to do about our rooms?"
"Huh?"
"I mean, are we supposed to stay in our old rooms, or the rooms of who's bodies we're in now?"
Kyoko was the one to answer. "I don't think it'll be possible to stay in our own rooms. You need a key to enter the dorm rooms, but the key to your room will be with whoever has your body now."
"R-Right." Makoto hadn't really thought about all this from that angle. This wasn't just a matter of him being in someone else's body; someone else was currently walking around in his. Someone who refused to say who they were, for that matter. It was almost more unnerving than being in someone else's body himself. Almost. "So then, we probably have the key to the room of whoever's body we're in."
Almost immediately, the group began checking to make sure they did in fact have the key they needed. In Makoto's case, it took a while to locate, due to the lack of obvious pockets on Celeste's outfit. He eventually located it inside her jacket, alongside her e-Handbook. The others seemed to have found their's as well. Just as Kyoko had said, they all had the keys of the bodies they were stuck in.
"Alright, so it looks like we'll be staying in the room of whoever's body we're in," Taka said, trying to take charge of the discussion again. "Now, is there anything else that needs to be discussed before we rejoin the rest of the group?"
