Chapter #5

In Which Teddie is Unconcerned For His Safety

    by: Silverhammer Author IconMail Icon
(Spoilers for Teddie's origin.)

Yu closed his eyes and braced himself, fully expecting for the giant girls to look over and notice them...

"Whoa..." Chie boomed, her louder than normal voice echoing across the vast room. "They're HUGE..."

Yu cautiously opened his eye. To his relief, none of the ladies had noticed his and his friends' unplanned arrival into the room. Naoto, normally the most observant of them, was distracted by her own embarassment. The other three were distracted by Naoto's... assets.

"How do you keep those hidden all the time?" Rise asked incredulously.

"Doesn't it hurt?" Yukiko asked with concern.

"Y...Yukiko-senpai! Don't poke them!" Naoto stammered, waving away her curious senpai's finger pokes.

"Well," Yu declared. "That was a freebie." He turned to the other boys. Yosuke stared at the sight before him, jaw agape. Kanji's nose was bleeding with such impressive volume that Yu honestly wasn't sure how his younger friend hadn't passed out yet. Teddie, for his part, seemed to be literally vibrating inside his costume.

"Alright," Yu declared, getting Yosuke and Kanji's attention. "We've seen enough. Let's get back to the TV world before something happens..."

"YUKI-CHAN!" Teddie exclaimed, bursting dramatically out of his costume to reveal the flamboyantly dressed blonde boy within. "Your wonderful little Teddie is here to score with you!" Before the others could stop him, he started running full tilt towards their monolithic, oblivious friends.

"Ted, you IDIOT!" Yosuke yelled. He sighed and turned to Yu. "Can we just leave him? I don't know if Darwinism is a thing for shadows, but I think we're seeing it in action."

"Tempting," Yu allowed. "But he's our friend. Also, we probably need him to get back to normal."

"Damn it..." Yosuke muttered, running off to catch their wayward companion.

Yu looked over at Kanji, whose nose was still bleeding.

"Kanji, you... do you want to just stay here by the TV?" Yu asked with concern. "I won't judge you if you do."

"N...nah, Senpai, I'm a man! I can handle it!" Kanji assured him, wiping at his nose with his jacket sleeve. "C'mon, let's go grab that idiot before the girls see us."

"Honestly, Kanji," Yu said as the two took off after the others. "At this point I'm more worried about what might happen if they DON'T see us..."

Meanwhile, Naoto had put her shirt back on, the stares of her friends being too much for her composure to handle. She hadn't bothered with the bindings, so her full figure was still visible beneath the fabric.

"C... can we be done with truth or dare now?" Naoto asked, flustered.

"Sure, Naoto-kun," Rise said with a gentle smile as she put a reassuring hand on the detective's shoulder. "I don't think we're gonna top that anyway."

"So what now?" Chie asked. "You girls wanna watch a movie?"

"Sounds good! You all pick one, I'll get some popcorn ready," Yukiko volunteered, getting up to walk to the table where Naoto had set the food. Unbeknownst to Yukiko, a certain blonde, bug-sized shadow was clinging to her clothes as she walked. And three of her friends were similarly diminished and directly in her path.

"Oh, SHIT!" Yosuke exclaimed. He had been chasing Teddie down, hoping to stop the overeager lech before he could scale the object of his one-sided affections. Now he doubled back in fear and was running for his life as a larger than life Yukiko was about to accidentally trample him.

"YOSUKE! DODGE TO YOUR LEFT!" Yu ordered. Yosuke did so, and barely rolled out of the way before the enormous socked foot slammed into the ground behind him. A rush of air from the shock wave sent him rolling awkwardly across the wooden floor, battered but otherwise unharmed. Blissfully unaware of the tragedy she nearly caused, Yukiko continued walking towards Yu and Kanji, eyes locked ahead on the table of snacks in front of her.

Spotting Teddie clinging to the hem of Yukiko's bathrobe and thinking quickly, Yu ran towards the approaching giantess.

"Senpai, the hell ya doin'?" Kanji asked in panic.

"I'll get Teddie! You go check on Yosuke!" Yu replied, leaping up and grabbing onto the giant swaying robe with precise timing as Yukiko walked by, the quakes from her footfalls almost knocking Kanji off his feet as he ran towards Yosuke.

Teddie looked down, seeing Yu clinging to the robe below him. "Hi Sensei!"

"Teddie, get down from there!" Yu ordered.

"You can't stop true love, Sensei!" Teddie proclaimed, scurrying up the robe with unnatural speed.

His saintly understanding pushed to its limits, Yu snarled and chased after the wayward bear.
