Chapter #4

Absol

    by: Unknown
“Are you serious?”

You mumbled angrily to yourself as you pad down the dirt paths weaving all through the forest, sniffing at the ground, trying to track the scent of your far-away parents. “They just… left. They just left!” You murmured quietly, feeling ever so slightly pissed off. “In the middle of the night! You have got to be kidding me. I knew they were petty, but this…” Hell no. You’re not letting them get away with this. They weren’t going to get rid of you that easy. You were going to track them down and give them a piece of your mind, at least.

They had made some occasional references to dropping you out of the nest, which you weren’t opposed to, but you certainly didn’t expect that the day you hit what most would consider adulthood, they would up and vanish in the middle of the night without even bothering to say ‘goodbye’. Apparently, without having every taught you any survival skills whatsoever, they expected you to just suddenly start surviving on your own without warning. Or maybe they just didn’t care if you lived or died. Either way, you weren’t going to be thrown away like yesterday’s trash. You were trailing their scent as best you could; your father’s, a zoroark, scent was the strongest, the unwashed buffoon. He was probably the one that came up with this. Your mother, meek as she was, always went with whatever plan your father decided on, which made you both loathe and pity her in equal measures. All in all, your childhood wasn’t the best, being sheltered away from the world and stuck in a tree all day… but that was behind you now.

You were technically independent now, though you had no idea what you were doing. And you’ve always been a bit of runt, so you didn’t know how well you’d stand your ground against hungry wild Pokemon. Still, you had to track them down, no matter the cost, if only just to get an explanation out of them. Your rage overriding your fear of the unknown, you press onwards into the wilderness, not even bothering to check for predators as you focus on tracking your parents’ scent.

That is, until you noticed the sound of something rustling in the bushes. It was subtle, almost silent, but your attuned ears just managed to pick it. You freeze, sniffing the air to see if you could identify your pursuer by scent. Whoever they were, you’ve definitely never met them before. “S-show yourself!” You yelled into the bushes, feigning bravery. Predators would be less likely to attack if you stood your group, you knew that much. Your heart was pounding in your chest as a wild Pokemon slowly emerged from the overgrowth...

You have the following choices:

1. An Auroras!

2. A Ninetails!

3. A Pyroar!
