Terra spent hours upon hours typing up data, charts and lists. Cross referencing data and reviewing personnel files with known incidents and security tapes from around the base, but for all of her effort she found nothing.
"It can't be a pilot..." She muttered to herself, "If it were we would have seen some evidence of it being one...." Frustrated, the pilot-turned-detective ran her fingers through her hair when she heard a knock at her door. "It's open!" She called.
The door slid open to reveal a member of the GDF security force; a police agency of sorts that patrolled and protected the base from both internal and external threats.
"Oh, officer... is there something I can do for you?" Terra questioned.
"No ma'am, but I'm told there might be something I can do for you?" The officer replied, his offer sounding more like an inquiry than a solution.
"Really? And what might that be?" Terra asked.
"Well, I heard you were looking for the mystery pilot today..."
"Trying and failing..." She huffed as she brushed a few strands of hair away from her eyes.
"Well, I decided to do a little digging of my own when a thought occurred to me. Whoever it is that broke into the simulator, doesn't know that we're aware of their activity unless its a tech or security force member since the sim bay was closed down for just a couple of hours and it was never publicly announced."
Terra's eyes lit up, "You're right!"
"So, maybe a stakeout would give you an opportunity to catch them..."
Terra nodded, "I can't believe that I didn't think of that myself... I'll do it tonight."
