Starting to feel a little creeped out by the mysterious shop keeper wearing the appearance on her boyfriend. But, thanks to him, she didn't have any more money to spend. Thanking the odd, mysterious shop keeper, Sarah placed the box inside her purse. She was certainly thankful that she brought her big bag with her today. She turned around and looked for her family, but heard nothing. Looking around, everything seemed to be oddly quiet. Sarah looked back over at the counter where she left the shop keeper and found it to be vacant and covered with a white cloth, something used to cover furniture and fixtures to protect them from dust.
Not seeing anything, Sarah started to trace her steps back to the entrance. After a few minutes of navigating the seemingly empty store front, she found the entrance. "Finally, I thought I was going to be in there forever." She stretched her arms out and breathed in a fresh breath of air. After she was done, she looked at her family and noticed that they were giving her an odd look. "What?" She asked with a perplexed look on her face.
Richard looked at her. "Sweetie, you were only in there for about 5 minutes max. We walked in there and saw that nobody was around and left, but when we got out of the building you weren't with us. I was going to call out for you, but the door was locked behind us." He seemed to be a little relieved that his oldest daughter wasn't taken away by sex traffickers.
Soon they all piled into the family car and made their way to the local eatery that they all enjoyed. Once inside, Sarah took out the sun faded box to get another look at it. As soon as she pulled it out her brother, Jason, was all over her. "Oh, what is that?" He grabbed the remote from the box and got a closer look at it. "This looks like something from the lost days of the 90s." He moved it around and noticed something odd. "There aren't any numbers on here." Thinking that she'd been caught she took the remote and stuffed it back in her bag, along with the box and the set of instructions.
As she put her bag close to her side, she thought to herself. 'Jason always takes my stuff and read my diary when we were younger, I think he will be the perfect test subject when we get home.'
