Thanks to the underground gold and silver mines in the Dukedom, extremely fertile farmlands, and trade with the city-state of Verkauf, they are currently the richest family in the Kingdom.
Thanks to the high population in Eastshire, they also gather more soldiers than the other Dukedoms and these soldiers are also better trained and the most disciplined on the Isles.
And because of their ancestry they master intrigues of court.
For all the reasons above, members of this house are among the choices for Marshals, Spy Masters and Treasurers.
Many men of every generation from this House are trained fighters and commanders from childhood.
The Blackadders are known to be power hungry and being opportunists, however, as they always choosed the winning side of a civil war.
Members of House Blackadder are also known for their hair: they're either born with golden hair, black hair or a mix of both.
House Blackadder rules from the city of Durnovaria.
The family sigil is a black snake wrapped around a sword and the letter B on a black field.
Their words are: ”Never Retreat, Never Surrender!”
Duke Victor Blackadder was a Marshal during the reigns of Oliver I and Edward ”the Seafarer”, the youngest (at age of 21) in the history of Albion. But when King Edward died and was succeeded by his 3-year-old son, it all changed. He tried to convince the Council to name him regent by proposing to conquer the barbaric islands of Aeryn and Albany. Lord Herbert was elected instead, since there have been enough wars and it’s time for peace. Victor lost his temper and called them all weaklings, and resigned for his office and returned home to Durnovaria. He has never left his Dukedom ever since.
The following members of House Blackadder:
- Duke Victor Blackadder of Eastshire, an ambitious man capable of great cruelty, he possesses a cold cunning and a skill for strategy. A determined foe and feared commander, one should never underestimate his willingness to do whatever is necessary to keep his power. He was married twice. (Age 53)
-- First wife (died in childbirth in 975 AC):
--- Cato Blackadder, Duke Victor's 1st son and heir, and a commander in his fathers army. Badly deluded and narcissistic, he sees himself and his father as Gods and the peasants of Eastshire as sub-Humans. Cato is a trained fighter and a dangerous opponent in battle, but his impulsiveness is his greatest weakness. (Age 33)
--- Cesare Blackadder, 2nd son of Duke Victor and the head of Durnovaria's law enforcement. He is a charismatic, cruel, aggressive, and ambitious man. He is utterly ruthless in that he would do anything to obtain power. (Age 30)

-- Duchess Rhonda Blackadder, née Wincestre, 2nd wife of Duke Victor and the mother of his youngest daughters. A kind woman who is naive and completely unaware/oblivious of the nature of her husband, his sons and his eldest daughter. (Age 39)
--- Victoria Blackadder, the beautiful daughter of Rhonda (her eldest) and Duke Victor, and older sister of Rose. (Age 18)
--- Roselyn Blackadder, nicknamed Rose, youngest daughter of Rhonda and Duke Victor, and younger sister of Victoria. She has a massive crush on young King Arthur, even though she has only seen paintings and drawings of him. They even have the same birthday.
She is beautiful like her sister, Victoria, but her body is very endowed with large breasts and wide hips, even for a girl in her age. Still, she's shy and naive. Loves to listens to songs about gallant and noble knights with her sister, Victoria. (Age 16)
