Chapter #4

Integrated

You were young, slight framed and had a youthfulness about you. Even though you were beyond the age of the children that flocked to Gerbert’s you neither looked too old to be there. There was an initial but poorly enforced policy of patrons requiring an appropriately aged child to chaperone if they were too old for the establishment. On the flip side this meant that children required some supervision from family or guardians. However this was constantly ignored as trying to manage multiple swaths of children was a nightmare for the staff.

You found the best way to stay unnoticed was to stay quiet. Have a soft smile, be polite, don't do anything egregious to your being there. If anyone else were to ask what you were doing it would appear pointless. Wasteful. It helped that you tipped well, you weren't hurting for money. As long as you didn't raise a stink no one gave you a problem. In fact, you would go as far to say that you were a relief for stressed waitstaff, when kids whined and angry parents were set to raise hell when the elements of their progeny's birthday party were lackluster. You were someone to joke with.

Ultimately your friendliness was a means to the end. Why be burdened with the responsibilities at Gerbert's when you could stay a customer. Food was decent, there was a variety of games at the arcade. Those two avenues were the most appropriate whenever a fresh faced employee was curious as to why you frequented the restaurant so frequently. Still, you'd stay in the back watching a Cosmic Crew animatronic show, even linger out the door of a private party room for too long to catch the routines of the mascots when they traveled the track to a personal visit.

But it wasn't just the restaurant itself that drew your attention...

The people that went there gained your fascination as well. For as much as some of the Cosmic Crew routines, especially the purpose of the 'Bellixie' character played by a staff member in costume, wanted to make sure kids stayed active that was hardly the case. Many more patrons fit the other end of the spectrum. The play pen would be sparsely populated compared to the bodies hunkered down to consume the widespread spread at Gerbert's. You knew how tasty half of it could be and you saw the obvious effects it had on clientele and staff. Besides children, the primary demographic of Gerbert's, there was a hidden second demographic only you seemed to realize.

The establishment attracted fat people.

And that delighted you. From broad hips, full bellies, weighty backsides, full bosoms, tight clothes from the young and old, you liked it all. Each day there were new people to marvel at, new shapes to drive you wild. You started to learn the names of some regulars, bond over a like of the restaurant, allowing you to get closer and offer them the reminder of your purposefully half eaten lunch or save them the steps to get a soda refill. Many of the business crew developed stress eating habits as well, which you offered words of encouragement to lift their spirits along with encouragement to remind them how tasty something on the menu was.

Gerbert's was a fat admirer's paradise. But that alone wasn't going to keep you off the radar. You had to pair your ambitions with something else.
