The noises and earthquakes stop as I figure it must be someone going to the bathroom. And here I am still in the same predicament. At this point the only light in the kitchen is the moonlight through the window. My heart still races as I watch my surroundings. Various clicks and thuds randomly sound off. The usual sounds of a quiet home but amplified into sudden, loud noises at my size. Through the corner of my eye I see movement and I turn to see an ant that size of a tank walking around in the distance! This ant would be teeny tiny to anyone but to me, it was a behemoth! I see another thing moving in the other direction, a beetle that is longer than a bus and bigger than four of the ants side to side is walking about as well!
I crouch in a ball as various bugs stroll by without noticing me, feasting on the crumbs left on the floor or each other. Thankfully, I'm so tiny they don't notice me or figure I'm not worth the trouble. It's a long night that I barely get any sleep.
I nod off and then when I open my eyes, the kitchen is dimly lit. The morning sun shining through the windows. Looking around, crumbs are still everywhere but no bugs to be seen. I let out a sigh of relief, glad to have survived the night. A banging noise is heard in the background and the sounds of footfalls follows. From the kitchen doorway, comes my gigantic mother wearing a white robe around her body. Bags rest under her blue eyes as she lumbers into the kitchen. As she gets closer, the view of her upper body is obscured from the chair I'm under and instead I'm left with the sight of her colossal legs and feet.
Mom's feet crush crumbs into literal dust as she walks to the cabinet far away to the other side of the kitchen. Her full body visible again as she grabs a bowl, a spoon and then proceeds to the fridge for milk and a box of cereal above. She then walks towards me to the table again, the chair blocking her top half.
A nearby chair makes a sickening creak against the floor as Mom pulls it back and then sits down on it. The items she has in her hand make a loud thud as she sets them on the table. Her legs stretch forward and her feet lay on the floor under the table. This might be my chance, should I approach her or stay away and safely watch?
