One week later, you're once again approached cheerfully by your thirteen year old daughter Tilly. "Good morning Dad!" she called to you, as you were once again at the table - this time reading the morning newspaper. You don't pay her too much attention, as you're busy with your own things at the moment, you simply respond with another 'good morning' like her own, going back to your paper. "Dad!" she says playfully, pushing down your paper from behind it, "Guess what?" she has a large grin on her face, and you jokingly ask, "What? Did you grow again?" with a smile, looking to your paper.
"Well, yeah!" she answers enthusiastically, standing triumphantly beyond your news. You simply feel stunned - she grew again? You figured she was simply cursed with the short genes of her mother, but here she is claiming to be beyond 5'2" when she was only 5'0" three weeks ago! "Oh?" you question nonchalantly, "And how much did you grow this time - in the span of a week as opposed to two?" you see her rocking on the balls of her feet out of the corner of your eyes, as she announces her new height - "Another two inches!" ...
5'4"? How in blazes could she grow four inches in only three weeks? Your thoughts quickly scattered to absurd beliefs. What if her growth double each week? The first two weeks she grew two inches - this time, only one week, she grew two inches alone, what if in the next week, she grew four inches? Maybe it's increasing by one inch each week...
You shake your head in disbelief, "Now, I doubt that you grew another two inches, dear." you stand, realizing your mistake quickly. Before, she'd barely managed to reach your chest in height, yet, now, at 5'4", she seemed to be gaining on your chin. "Well, maybe you did..." you mutter, putting on a grin, "You're taller than your mother now, Tilly!" you laugh.
