Hold the glowing pendant aloft for light.

You cannot know your next move if you cannot see your foe but it seems safe for you to presume that the beast can fly.

You pull your pendant from beneath your shirt and it flares to life, bathing the world in white light for fifteen meters in every direction. If there is something out there and it didn't see you before, it does now. Everything beyond the pendant's brilliance is pitch black darkness, but at least you'll see if the thing out there gets close, and fifteen meters is plenty of space to work with.

You have the following choices:

1. Find the beast and attack it.

2. Travel through the night with your guard up.

3. Wait in place until day.
