"Not yet, that play is getting kind of old anyway. If you really don't want to be in it, then you'll give me your friends."
Growing up with no father figure in her life, Bri matured a bit quickly compared to her friends and was a bit hardened emotionally. Adding that with her above-average intelligence for an 8 hear old, and it was easy for Josh to piece together why she would request such a swap. "How long would I have to keep them for?"
"Uhhh..." She stopped to think. "How about until after the play is over with?"
"Next Friday? But that's a whole week." He complained.
"Well, are we gonna do the swap or not?"
"Hold on, I'm thinking about it." Josh slowed her down. If the swap was just for a weekend he would be non-hesitant to oblige, but the fact that it would last for an entire week made it tough. Adding on that most of his friends would become 8 year old girls, he would have no friends his age in school for a longer period of time. "How about he just try the weekend?" He proposed.
"We can, but then you'll have to do the play." Bri answered, not budging.
Finally, Josh decided to just throw in the towel. "Fine, I'll give you my friends for the spot in the play." Two immediate flashes followed. Josh found that he still had Bri's clothes on, but he looked in his closet and noticed that the fairy costume was missing from the set.
"Okay," Josh said to his sister satisfied. "All good?"
"Pleasure doing business with you." She replied, copy something she had heard her mom say on the phone once or twice before walking out the door.
"_______, ________ is hear to see you." Courtney called from downstairs.
