Jassaya moved out of the tunnel and into the arena. She scanned the area for the first time: a classical looking coliseum with a circular arena. Large pillars were erected in four locations, holding up nothing but giving the contestants something to maneuver around. There were no corners, but one could still be easily backed into one of the columns or a wall if they weren’t careful. The seats filled with what seemed to be wealthy people looking for some entertainment. Jassaya grinned to herself and vowed to give them a good show.
Then she saw her opponent enter from the opposite side. “Hmph, just a human?” Jassaya blurted derisively, loud enough for the other woman to hear. “They must not have wanted a fair fight, did they?” With a confident grin, Jassaya slithered forward, moving slowly but gracefully to the center and closing the distance between the two. The two paused, eyeing each other from about ten feet apart. Jassaya straightened herself up, standing tall on her tail and stretching. “Girl, do you really think you have a chance against someone like me? You might as well just step into my coils now!”
The other woman said nothing, but took on a defensive posture. With a shrug, the serpent princess decided this girl was just a lamb thrown to the lioness, something to entertain the crowd. And Jassaya vowed to give them a good show. The naga slithered forward confidently, arms outstretched in order to grasp her ticklish victim…
