Chapter #5

Hide her in Mouse's room.

    by: Whade Author IconMail Icon
Some days later, as Summer passed Mouse's room she heard laughter from inside. She knocked.
"Mouse, are you experimenting with self-tickling again? You KNOW what Mom said about tying yourself up unsupervised..."

Since there was no answer, she decided to try something. She took out her hairpin, which was a cleverly disguised lockpick. (It caused her no end of trouble, both making it and keeping it in her hair, but it felt cool, the kind of thing a junior sleuth should be expected to have.) Mouse's lock, hardly a major challenge, gave with only a gentle push.

Summer was shocked at what she saw. There she was, Mouse, all bound in a straitjacket, and a clown girl tickling her feet.
"Wait!!!" Mouse cried out in a hurry before Summer could open her mouth to scream for help. "It's okay! I asked her to do it!"

Ten minutes later, all three of them were sitting on the living room floor.

"Mouse, this isn't like keeping a dog or something! You are so irresponsible!"

"But I got her food and made her a place under my bed! And I let her tickle me every day! Well. More than once every day."
"Every...How long exactly has this been going on?"
"Oh, 3 or 4 days."
Summer facepalmed.
"Mouse, you can't have a live-in tickler. You have to be like, er, I guess some adults may do that..."
"I don't mind being Smiley's captive." Mouse said and blushed.
"Okay wow I'm going to ignore that because I'm 100% sure you're way too young for that comment.
Anyway, she can't stay here. You have to let her be free and frolic in the wild with her family etcetera..."
"Summer's she's not a wild animal."
"She still has to leave."
"But she hasn't got anyone! C'mon Summer, we can't kick her out!
We have to help the poor girl somehow."

"Let me think. How about we..."

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Get her a job?

*Noteb*
2. Teach her to fend for herself?

*Noteb*
3. Something INGENIOUS I just thought of, Summer style.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
