Shenzi lets Simba recover to prolong the fight

Simba was still panting heavily, still feeling the result of Shenzi's attack. He was convinced that if he didn't get up soon, then the hyena would continue to humiliate him. But his body was too weak from the onslaught. His muscles ached, and he still felt himself burn up intensely. He began to panic as he saw Shenzi approach him. He begged his muscles to work, ASAP. But they refused.

Simba shut his eyes, fearing whatever the hyena had in store. He waited for her to try something. And waited. And waited. And waited.

After nothing happened for a while, Simba opened his eyes, spying Shenzi's face looming over his own.

"Feelin' better yet?" she said. Simba just looked up at her confused. "A weak fighter's better than an unresponsive fighter. Get up, and we can keep up the show for these fine folk." Simba audibly gulped at her threat. She was letting him recover just so she could keep punishing him. And she was in a prime position to punish him. He could only hope he could get enough adrenaline to escape her.
