This choice: an adult human holding a tranquilizer gun! • Go Back... The deer did not notice since he was munching on apples, but on the porch now was a hefty, bearded man in flannel, holding a tranquilizer gun. His movement onto the porch was surprisingly deft for a man who must have weighed well over 350lbs. It took a mere moment for him to aim the gun, take a deep breath and fire right into the deer's neck.
A few hours later, the deer awoke inside a room with wooden walls and a dirt floor. He stood up, but found he could not move much as all four of his legs were tied to posts with rope. A few feet away, the hunter was speaking to his son.
"So why didn't you just kill him, Pa?" The boy asked, warily.
"I told ya, boy, his meat'll be much better if we get to fatten him up first!"
"But Pa..." The boy looked over at the deer sadly. It wasn't his idea to come to this hunting lodge with his father, but when you're the age he was you don't really get to choose where you go.
"Jimmy, what did I tell ya? If you wanna be a real man like your pa, ya gotta be big like a real man! And if you wanna be big, you gotta eat like a real man too!" He grabbed his staunch, round gut from both hides and gave it a hearty shake. "This lil' guy's gonna blow up reeeeaaaaal nice, and then we'll have all that juicy meat to ourselves and you can get yerself a proper gut too!"
"Yes, Pa..." Jimmy, the boy, said, poking at his chubby belly. The father took his son under his meaty arm and the two left the shack, leaving the deer alone.
The deer, understanding none of what was happening, only knew that in front of him was a trough full of tasty looking feed. Seeds, berries, grains and some vegetable oil (for the extra fattening) were all mixed together and the deer was able to forget about his restrains as he ate. In fact, eating was the only thing the deer could do in his current position, so that's what he did. He ate and ate and ate more than he had ever eaten before. Every now and then the boy would come in with some more feed for the deer, who had begun to plump up...  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
