Don't think I didn't pick up this blatant change of subject, but I was intrigued. The pig snout had freaked me out, but on my terms, this could be used to my advantage.
I decided to take this further. There was still time to change my mind. I made a mental note NOT to ask to be a fish.
"I guess it wouldn't be a problem having you stay here if you are in trouble, but what happens to me if you get found? Is some super pissed-off demon going to turn me into a slug for sheltering you?" I asked, trying to get my head around the risks.
Runt looked pleased.
"Nice not to have a complete ‘no’ this time. And I'll be straight with you. There are a few individuals that would like to find me, human and otherwise. But I will do everything in my power to keep you safe and sound. As a general rule, none of us actually do anything to end a life, that makes bad things happen, to us in particular.”
Judging by Runt’s grimace, I guessed it was really bad.
“And if you help me willingly, it's way harder for me to be found. I'd put the chance of danger pretty much like taking a commercial jet flight. Hardly anything really happens, but when it does it can be spectacular."
I was quiet a minute, thinking hard. "One last thing. Consequences. Say I want to change my appearance, or age, or even become something wild like a satyr or centaur. Do I lose my identity? Will I be considered some weird freak?"
Runt shrugged.
"That's really up to you. If you want to change yourself and stay human, I can alter your reality so that it supports your new look. If you want to be a woman, you will have been born a woman. If you want to look like a famous rock star, I can change it so you and the rock star have always been identical twins. Or you can deal with stuff on your own. The more… unique changes, like turning into a centaur for example, require a bit more attention to detail, I can’t change everyone you know"
This all seemed good. If I did take Runt up on his offer to change things, other people would not suffer from any bad choices. But the idea of hosting a demon or whatever he was, was still pretty scary.
What the hell. It wasn't like I had a whole lot of choice. I could either try to make a friend or an enemy. I grinned and extended my hand.
"Guess I have a new roommate. Welcome to my home."
Runt chuckled and sat up, then stood to shake my hand. As soon as he clasped hands, though, he jerked me forward with surprising strength and planted a kiss on my mouth. I opened my eyes to see what looked like red sparks of light passing from his mouth to mine. He stepped back before I could do more than sputter.
"That's how we do things. Sealed with a kiss, as the old saying goes." He grinned at my continued embarrassment. "Remember, the whole being attracted to me thing, doesn't mean you have changed your sexual orientation, if you weren't attracted to guys before. But you may start to be more… open minded the more you spend time with me, so hey, you might like trying something new".
It took me a minute to recover. And of course, my man pole was showing plenty of willingness to try something new. I guessed it was to be expected. I was naked and standing close to an incredibly handsome guy with a massive cock and cheerful disposition, despite the tail and horns.
“So…. What do you want to do first?”
I sat down on the couch, my head spinning with the possibilities. But usually when you’re offered everything, you think of nothing.
"So, anything I can think of right?"
"Yup" said Runt, lying down on the couch next to me. "For a small price in return"
"The price being?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"Probably something sex related, depends on the favour" replied the imp. I gave a somewhat judgemental glance. "Well, I have to get some fun out of this as well don't I?"
"Fair enough..." I nodded, staring into space as I thought of where to start.
