Joe was walking the aisles as he heard a familiar voice.
It was the woman who reported him to her supervisor so long ago.
Joe had a long enough list of getting caught, but it didn't make each one sting any less, and with the person who added to that list so near him, he couldn't pass up the opportunity.
He walked toward the end of the aisle and began looking at the shelves as if comparing items as he looked around beside him. There, squatting down near the floor was Natalie. Reaching into a box of sponges, stocking them as she spoke to a man beside her, Luke.
"I don't know why you don't just ask Rebekah out, Luke. I think you'd be great together." Natalie said, looking up with a smile.
"I don't know, Natalie. She just seems like she's not that interested in me."
Natalie stood up with a handful of sponges as she pushed them out onto the shelf in front of her.
"I think your luck's better than you think."
"Speaking of luck, has Mike mentioned anything about wedding plans for you two?" Luke inquired.
Natalie squatted down again to pick up more stock. "Nothing yet." Natalie sighed. "We've just been so busy these past few months. I've been spending so much time here, and Mike's gotten that new promotion, so he's be distracted too..."
Joe cracked a smile as he casually turned over a box of detergent to pretend to read the back. "I'll give you something to keep you busy..." He whispered to himself.
Joe focused on the pair of employees as he heard the distinct sound of fabric tearing as Natalie's legs swelled. Threatening to burst through her pants as she stood up again.
"My feet are killing me too." Natalie sighed as she took off her shoes that were quickly becoming too small for her.
Meanwhile, Luke was looking at his phone as he slowly shrank. His hips and legs getting thin and short enough to allow his pants to fall to the floor.
Hearing this, Natalie turned around to see Luke there, looking down to see his briefs, a small pocket of empty air in the front as he looked past them to his pants now on the floor. "Damnit!" He said. Luke reached down to pull his pants back up and held them there with his left hand.
Natalie tried not to laugh too hard as Luke scrambled to cover his smooth legs. "Looks like I should get you a new belt while I'm out getting shoes."
"Haha." Said Luke, not amused.
"Relax, I think Rebekah likes shaven guys."
Luke snorted as he pointed down "You're one to talk about shaven." Natalie looked down as a massive tear had appeared on the thigh of her pants, exposing her dark leg hair.
"Mike doesn't seem to mind..." Natalie said defensively as she walked with Luke to the office to grab themselves some replacement pants from the spare uniforms in the back of the store. Luke's shoes that were now too large clapping slightly as he had to struggle to pick them up with his smaller feet as he walked.
Joe followed them as they continued to speak as they walked down the aisles.
Natalie continued, "It's just that we've had another issue come up recently that we wanted to solve before marriage. We were thinking about kids and how we both want them."
"That doesn't sound that bad..." Luke said.
"It's not." Natalie replied. "It's just that we didn't really want to adopt, and we're not sure which one of us should be the donor."
"Ah." Said Luke. "Well hey, how about this. Were you planning on having multiple kids?"
"Maybe..." Said Natalie.
"Why don't you just have 2 at once then. You have one with a surrogate and so does Mike. I know it'd be a lot raising two kids at once, but I'd imagine that would be a beautiful experience."
"That might work..." Said Natalie as they approached the office.
Natalie laughed, recalling what her fiance had said the night prior. "Mike just said he hopes that if we have a daughter she doesn't inherit my feet."
Luke looked down. "I mean... they are pretty big."
Natalie lightly punched him in the shoulder as she opened the door to the office and they both disappeared from Joe's sight.
Joe knew that over the next few years Luke's hormones would probably start giving him trouble as he would desire to have a baby of his own, but that thought was for later. He needed to find the supervisor that gave him one of his strikes.
Not that he minded messing with the employees of the store in the meantime...
